    My venting thread

Ok guys here is the deal If am wrong and out of line please tell me.. My first question is in front of grocery stores that DO NOT have the white or yellow painted lines marking it as a crosswalk , do the people that are walking out of the store and into the street have the right away ?

Just today I went to the store to pick a few things up for my sick 2 year old daughter. as Iam driving infront of the store some extremely over weight guy pushing his cart full of sodas, chips, cookies, frozen pizzas etc. along with his fat wife and porky kids with junk food in their faces are following the chuck wagon behind him. Well he steps out infront of me and I had to swarve pretty hard not to hit his cart. After I swarved he starts flipping me off and yelling at me. So I put the car in reverse and back up and nicely ask him "whats the problem ?" Then fat boy proceeds to start yelling at me telling me I need to pull my head out of my a** and learn to drive blah, blah, blah. well I kinda lost my temper and next thing I know well lets just say he was picking up his cart full of food all over the street. No doubt I should not have done what I done but no fat guy is going to start crap with me and not pay the price when he is in the wrong..

My question is , was I in the wrong for not giving him the right away ? even though He just walked out of no where in front of me ? DO fat people think the world revovles around them or what ?

unfortunately people have the right of way in eveery situation... they seem to forget while the drivers are at fault in almost every situation, being hit by a vehicle doesnt go away just cause you have right of way...

as far as Im concerned, no designated crosswalk = fair game and Im all in for making an official point scoring list for pedestrians

pedestrian have right of way especially in a parking lot regardless of a crosswalk being there or not. A little different in the street because it would've been considered jaywalking. You have to be careful grumpee since you could open up the door to liability and on top of it which is a very serious offense in a lot of states...........................road rage.

Pedestrians have the right of way uless j-walking. However, they should only cross when no traffic is coming at their fat asses! I wish I could have seen the look on his face when you got out of the car...lol

The sad part is he probably gets a disability check for being so fat paid for by the good people of Arizona. He probably also get Food Stamps to buy all that junk to keep his fat/disabled family fat and disabled. America is Fxcked. Our Laws encourage that type of lifestyle.

I would have loved to see you tip that guy's cart over, grump. If I was there I would have been cheering you on and yelling: "Kick his butt!" I tend to egg people on like that at work every now and then (my job is a bit backwards). I can believe the kid mouthing-off, though. Back when I was growing up, I would have had my a$$ handed to me if I said anything like that -- first from my parents, then my brother and, if there was any part of me left over, the person to whom I said it. Nowadays, things are a bit different.

I was driving down my street and a couple of teenagers were messing around their front yard. I passed in my car and they did something that could have seriously damaged it. I casually stopped, put it in reverse and backed-up to the front of their yard. I politely asked them to do it again -- they wouldn't. I calmly told the boys I would pretty much roll them up if they even thought of something like that again. I looked up at the house and saw their dad watching the whole thing. I waved to him and calmly drove away. As I did, I heard him start in on them pretty well. A few days later, I went down to speak with their dad (not to start any trouble) and tell him I wasn't really gonna do anything to them. He laughed at the whole thing. I told him he has my approval to do the same to my boys when I wasn't looking if they did anything of that sort. We make pretty good friends.

I love my neighborhood. We take care of eachother. It sometimes takes a village.

I wish I would have recorded it now. I kicked that cart over so hard there was cans of soda rolling and spraying everywhere. After I kicked the cart over I caught my self picking up the cart to knock him over. I decided I had better leave since I caused such a scene,lol.. atleast they will burn off a few cals picking up there food all over the parking lot.

tisk tisk... common side effects of AAS usage. Users typically fly off the handle with no prevokation at all... did you yell at a stop sign and break any baseball homerun records? Steroids are evil and may god have mercy on your soul

I was worse presteroids to be honest. Steroids have actually calmed me down and made me a nicer person . Its a side affect of spending years and years framing houses in 120 degrees and dealing with a society that is not held accountable for their actions... Iam really a nice guy I swear.

Well I guess if it was not for the increase in strength it would have been humanly unpossible to knock over that cart of grocerys because they had that thing loaded like it was the end of the world. They had atleast 4 cases of dr. pepper and enough frozen pizzas to feed a army.

you are required to yield to a pedestrian, even if you have the right of way.

    Can you imagine?

Yes officer. I hit the sonufabich with my car. yes I was doing 50. No I didn't slow down. Why? He wasn't in the cross walk.

Yep, Iam a general contractor but I still like to train my guys how I want my houses framed and I also like to show them how slow todays framers are compared to 10-15 years ago when I was at my peak. I was one of the top high production framers out there and still can run most guys into the ground.

    Are you a cop ?

Thats what I want to know. If I would have saw the guy I would have stopped like I always do. But when you just walk out of the store pushing your cart because your in a hurry to crack a soda and toss a pizza in the oven then dont even bother to look but just walk out in the street thats a different story.

Watch out for the peds! I feel pretty strongly about it; I'm a very aggressive driver (however I prefer the term "efficient") but I still know what the rules are and abide by them (except for speed limits). Pedestrians always have the right of way. It's nice of them to wave or do a little "I'm hurryin!" jog, but regardless they have the right of way and you must yield to them. You were in the wrong and proceeded to get wrong-er. Usually (at least where I'm from) they have stop signs in front of the crosswalks at stores, but if not you shouldn't be flying through there anyhow and should be observing for pedestrians. No disrespect to you, but yes that's how you drive. No I don't think fat people think the world revolves around them, but pedestrians may think the traffic laws revolve around them, because they do.

Definitely not a cop. Started framing houses during summers at 18 to have spending money at college and been doing it ever since. Started on my own at 22 and I'm 34 now so.....I haven't actually worked on a framing crew for several years now but I agree that this new crowd doesn't even compare to the speed I'm accustomed to.

Up until a couple years ago we were framing 500+ houses a year plus some commercial and mult-family stuff. These days my work radius has had to increase ten-fold but hell, I'm just glad to be staying busy and in business in this market.

I started laughing out loud here in the office when I read this. What a bust!

Yeah, they have the right of way.

However, they take their lives into their own hands when they walk out in front of a car without looking.

Glad you didnt hit the lard, but the cart was perfect.

Im suprized he didnt shut up when he saw the size of you...
