Injecting stretching the skin taut

When I watch videos of people injecting they always squeeze the skin together between their thumb and index finger. I thought you were actually supposed to "stretch" the skin tight by pulling your finger and thumb away from eachother? Can you do both?

Well i assume u can do both but by stretching the skin ur making it tighter and actually easier for the needle to pierce the skin. The squeezing the skin together would prob make it harder and hurt more. mho

Streaching the skin helps reduce the amount of oil that can leak out.

You normally only pinch the skin for subcutaneous injections.
