AAS use in wrestlers that have died?

Just read an article on yahoo in regards to Macho man who just died of a Heart attack/car crash.

It then showed a chart of all the wrestlers that were part of his time and how they died.

There is a lot of young guys there that died of heart attacks.

Do you think AAS use had any part of that or perhaps all coincidence, or maybe some other drugs they may have been taking.

AAS use alone? no. Extensive AAS use stacked with ECA like most do (ephedra, stimulants) yes that is pretty hard on the old ticker especially over the long haul.

I dont believe it is just the aas or stimulants. If you take time to examine the amount they put their bodys through. On the road 250 days a yr, and almost as many shows. The physicality that is involved in these nights and the prescription pain killer usage afterwards. A body is like a car it can only take so much damage. It is a shame that so many wrestlers have died so young but its also slowing down now that wellness policys are in place. And also due to the amount of knowledge that has been made available since like the 80's considering long term effects of aas use etc. Dig it brother ...ohhhhhh yeeaahhhhhh

Eddie Guerrero the champion, died of a massive heart attack while in his late 30's. No doubt that these wrestlers were using AAS, probably in high doses. There were probably too dumb not to monitor their cholesterol levels and blood tests like RBC, hemoglobin and hematocrit. So they end up living a very short life.

That was awful, Macho Man is and always will be an icon and def considered to be one of the pioneers that made that industry what it is today, but I agree with most people on the thread. Yes, they took them, doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out but on top of all the other countless meds and the physical beatings their bodies took. Especially in Macho mans case for 20 plus years!! Its bound to catch up with you sooner or later..Still very sad though.

roids arent the only drugs responsible, although im sure those guys took them all year round

coke, uppers, downers, etc im sure all played a role in their heart attacks

compare wrestlers to bodybuilders, and you can see how the # of deaths diminish

Pro wrestlers are idiots. They treat their bodies like amusement parks, so it is hardly surprising that a lot of them die young. What do you expect when you're close to 300lbs and doing hard drugs, partying, eating like shit, and using AAS for decades? Being a celebrity in general isn't good for your health.

Yeah football is a high impact sport. But football also has a STRICT drug testing policy etc... Also football players arent throwing themselves off of 30 foot structures, through tables, mulitple chair shots etc.. Plus they have a ton of padding to help to protect them..

I'd say its a combination of many things, from what I've heard most are cycling aas year round, addicted to pain killers and drinking and partying...Not a real good combination if you want to live past 40.

Pro wrestler or football player.....I'd live 40 or 50 years in a pro athlete lifestyle over 80 years in the blue collar job, like the job that I currently have, anyday.

(Although I do truly enjoy comradery and team work with any job.)

It's hard to say that steroids contributed or mainly contributed to the death of these guys. I mean these guys took drug abuse to new levels. Here is a KLIQ story that Kevin Nash tells http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzdLL...eature=related I mean it's well known that abuse of drugs like meth and cocaine by themselves can kill you. These guys would do that shit like it's candy. On top of that, they were taking muscle relaxers and opiate pain killers as if they were Pez. And they'd wash it all down with gallons and gallons of hard liquor.

If anything, I'm surprised more of them haven't died yet, but when they're abusing that many drugs. Pin pointing something like steroids as the cause or even contributing seems a bit premature. I remember the wrestler Sheamus saying on the road, they mostly end up eating at Mickey D's and places like that. That alone is enough to kill.
