Is prescription dose monitored on Steroid testing?

Hello everyone, this is my first question/post here besides my intro post. I know it sounds cliché, but I have researched this over and over with no info. I think maybe the wording is a bit confusing to get any relevant results, in any case I am asking this hoping I am not breaking any rules etc.

I guess the best way to ask this would be to pose an example: a physician, say Urologist, prescribes TRT at say a lose dose of a Test "cream", oral, or even injectable, to a patient with low testosterone. The patient is happy, but he knows to actually get results he needs to do a real cycle. This patient, goes out and he doesn't use the cream, but instead goes on a 12 week Test E cycle believing that if he's tested for Steroids, the script will cover him.

If the patient is then tested for Steroid use, obviously he will come up positive, but can the prescription put the patient in the clear legally? Can he use that prescription and say that is why he tested positive?

I know a person being on a lose dose of TRT and a one being on 500mg 12 week cycle of Test E will obviously produce different test readings, but does the testing look into this? Can they claim the patient is using more than just a "cream"? Or will ANY Steroid prescription cover any use?

I know it's a bit confusing but I hope someone can shed light on this. Thank you!

If a person was tested there levels would be much higher than one on a trt dose. So it would be obvious that they were doing more than what was prescribed

The only one looking into it will be your doctor when he realizes you haven't played fair.
Or simply lower your dose in time for your levels to return to normal prior to your test, assuming you know when it is?

Kelkel, testing is done randomly in my situation. You never know when and IF it might come. You may never be tested, or you can be tested 3x in one year.

I know the doctor might be a bit surprised to see elevated levels but in regards to the testing for employment and/or sports, do you have any knowledge if they look into any correlations between a prescription and what shows up on your urine test?

I would think that you can blame it all on the prescription and it would require a lot of work for anyone who test you to prove otherwise, no?

By the way, I have never cycled or touched any AAS. I am just gathering information to make a sound decision.

If you are taking "cycle" doses, which are typically 500mg/wk, your testosterone levels will be well above 1500. This would not be due to TRT and would be indicative of steroid use/abuse. A level that high would be retuned as a "panic" value from the lab to your MD or employer and would absolutely raise questions and suspicion.

Test does not show up on a urine test, only a blood test.

Only YOU can make the decision if doing a cycle is worth loosing your job or career over.

lovbyts, from what I've researched a Urine test is used to test the ratio of testosterone/epitestosterone in your Urine, with the "alert" level being a ratio of 4:1 or above. My team does Steroid testing through Urine, not hair follicles. Am I misunderstanding something?

And no, it is definitely not worth losing my career over, which is why I am treading carefully and just asking/learning.

MuscleInk, your reply was exactly the answer I was looking for, thank you very much for that piece of information!

California just curious how much notice do you get before a test? 24hrs or do they show up right there on the spot?

Right there on the spot. It's random so you'll never know its coming. You might never get tested, or you might get tested multiple times in one year.

I think it might be time to take the tester out for dinner and a few drinks

The metabolites are detectable much longer in urine than blood, and urinalysis is the standard for AAS testing.

Testosterone is not approved in most sports, doesnt even matter if it is TRT or not. It would be an impossible game to balance.

also, as mentioned above the test screens for synthetic testosterone metabolites so that though is out
