    Should I be eating more or different foods? or both?

    I was wondering whats wrong with my diet because I really have a hard time gaining weight seeing how I've weighed 125 lb's for years. I'm not sure what I do wrong so if someone can help me that'd be great Here's how my diet is atm.

    Usually I start off with breakfast with 2-4 over easy eggs with toast and a glass of milk, and then I don't really have a 'lunch' I just eat random meals throughout the day till dinner, but those random meals would be a hotdog, or a ham sandwich, or pb&j or something like that sometimes bigger depends on what I'm in the mood for, and I usually eat between 2-4 'meals' between breakfast and dinner, then for dinner I usually eat quite a bit, maybe 2 hamburgers or chicken but usually enough to make me full for a few hours.

    So is that diet ok? where do you think I'm going wrong? I feel like I get enough protein throughout the day am I not getting enough calories or carbs or something? Sorry I don't know much about dieting lol, I've grown up just eating whatever I want, but now that I wanna get some meat on my bones I don't know what i'm doin haha.

    Welcome and to begin with, your Diet has no structure.

    You have realized now that you cannot just eat "whatever you want' and expect to achieve your desired results.

    I am assuming you are young and probably have a fast metabolism as well.

    You need to calculate your BMR/Maintenance calories and then you can begin to structure a diet and macros using muscle building foods to construct the diet and to start gaining.

    OK Ya i'm young and have a fast metabolism for sure. My stats are,
    Age: 18
    Height: 5' 10"
    Weight: 125 lb's

    Could you post up a sample of what you eat in a list format with times included.

    Ok I will edit this post on what I eat today and what times.

    9:00 am - 2 eggs, 3 sausage links, 2 pieces of toast, +glass of milk
    11:50 am - grilled cheese sandwich with ham
    4:00 pm - 5:00 pm - Lifted
    5:15pm - 2 eggs, polish sausage
    8:00pm - 2 hotdogs
    10:30pm - Pbj sandwich

    You need some red meat, oats, lots of eggs/egg whites, sweet potatoes, brown rice, cottage cheese and more better food choices, plus need to read some stickies and threads where members have similar goals.
