    broken big toe

anyone had this and is there any point in going to the doctor? looked on google and mine is bruised worse than the examples of broken toes on images and has the classic straight edge bruising indicating a break, the bruising is below and above the toe. its perfectly straight, so im wondering if the doc can actually do anything other than say rest it?

If you have insurance I would go. If you are positive it is straight and will heal straight then you could skip it. I would say skip it except your Muay Thai will suffer without that big toe if it heals wrong.

I have broken many toes in my life.. I was told by doc there really isnt anything to do for one except stay off.. But then again I have some of the ugliest toes in all of mankind.....Hmmmm.... maybe not fixing them is why they are so fvcked up looking...let me know if the doc actually is able to do something for a broken toe...I am curious to see..

Its a waste they are going to tape it to your next toe and call it a day.

Seriously though stay off and be incredibly strict about doing it, If it heals messed up you will have many many more stupid nuisances down the line

yeah but its straight and im not paying 70e + an xray fee to be told to rest, most reports online say they cant do anything for it unless its mangled or badly bent. i kicked him right on the nut sack on the point of my toes so i reckon its some sort of compression fracture or its chipped, im not in agony just cant put weight on the big toe

I started a thread a few years back after dropping a 45 lb plate 3ft on my right foot. It hit and bounced back in the air. I took my shoe off to find a black toenail and three purple toes that had tripled in size. I limped out of the gym and went home. i had broken toes before so i figured i would let them heal like always. Later that night the nail was so full of blood on my big toe that it was about an inch higher than usual. I pulled it of and noticed the nail bed was split bad

So i go to the doctor and insist on xrays. i told them i dont need an xray i can guarantee you they are broken. They insist and i do it. The doctor comes back in and "says it appears you have a broken toe". I just laugh and say thanks didnt realize that. Then he proceeds to say there isnt much we can do just wear loose shoes and stay off of it if possible.

So all in all it was just a waste of money to see a doc.

Playing football in college i was stepped on many times and broke my left big toe 3 times, left second toe twice, right big toe twice, and left second toe once. They would usually give me a metal shank type of insole. It was the most irritating thing to wear but it did give some leverage when running
