    Need Info on Protein

I am trying to figure out how much protein intake I need daily. I am 37 and weigh 163lbs, 5'7".

I also need to know how much protein my wife needs to consume. She is 41, 5'3", 115lbs.

What is your bodyfat% ? You need 1.5g of Protein per pound of Lean Body Mass ? So a 200 lbs person at 10% bodyfat would have 180 lbs of LBM and therefore need 270g of protein in their diet.

I don't think this to be a golden rule. It will vary with people, metabolism and other macro intakes.

Lee Haney consumed 200 grams of Protein in the off season I believe.

I had it tested electronically and it said 18.5% which I thought was much higher than I actually am. I am 5'7" and weigh 163.

It could be accurate, but your best bet then would be to post a full body picture of yourself (can black out your face / tattoos) in the Member's Pictures section, they are pretty good at guess bf% +/- 1%.

1g protein/per pound of body weight for general health
1.5g - 2.0g protein for someone looking to add lean muscle depending on the intensity of training and how much muscle you are looking to build
