Hey guys I am new here and did not know the best forum for this. As a guest this forum says questions and answers but then it said steroid questions and answers when I made an account so if its the wrong forum please move where ever appropriate and I apologize.
Anyway to keep it as short as possible. I have worked out my entire life and ate a fairly good diet most my life. Although I have been in much better shape in the past. And lately I've definitely been slacking off although thats not my question. I was at work the other day where I contract sales for large waterproofing jobs and was up in the attic of a potential client. Well 2 college aged girls so I'm a bit embarassed to mention yes I did show off a bit. I was on the ladder going up to the attic and was holding my body in the air doing an elevated dip almost as to peak my head in the attic.
As my head is in the attic and I think I am being cool supporting myself in the air my arm moved at a weird angle and I fell down to the stairs but stopped my fall before actually falling off. Anyway as I'm falling a loud pop alarmed the 2 girls and myself included at which point I felt onto the stairs grasping for my dear life like an idiot. Managed to get my feet back on and realized I had greatly injured the part between my chest and bicep. I had done chest the day before too not sure if it would have played a role in anything but I did not injure my chest that day in anyway.
Well its been 3 days and I am going to a doctor in a few more days when the appointment is but am worrying that I will not be able to work out anymore. Like I said although I may not look like it I have always worked out religiously my whole life and it will be extremely depressing if this injury keeps me out of the gym for longer than a few weeks.
I am suspecting a ruptured tendon I can update with pics if need be but what you see here got a bit more darker later in the day. This was the morning after the night I had gotten the injury at work. Pain was extremely bad at first but now it only really gets bad like that if I move it in a weird angle.
My question is does anyone have experience with tendon ruptures or maybe someone who can ease my mind? I have always looked forward to working out in the morning when I wake up it will just be so depressing if I can't. I have still been trying to do cardio w/out moving my arm a lot in the morning but it is not a lot of fun to get through.
I'm not expecting anything spot on maybe just some speculation as to how bad it might be?
thank you so much - Randy
btw I had intended on posting 4 pictures but I can not get the other 3 to upload for some reason it has an exclamation by the upload box.
