^^^^^^^^^^^^^^BLoody Hell, I could have produced better myself!
The Prodigy are cool and will always be remembered by the mainstream for what they were doing, but they account for about 1% of the music produced in that era. Illegal warehouse raves in the late 80's was the start of the scene, then somehow the shift moved to the DJ being the superstar and all these posh 'super ' nightclubs appeared, with a branch of house, funky house, progressive house, hard house, techno, rave, four-beat, jungle, trance, hard trance, hardcore etc etc and another dozen pigeon holed styles of music.
Still miss those days of going out, not knowing whether your gonna score some E, driving to a club, couple of drinks in a pub, dancing all night til daybreak, couple of spliffs wi tunes on in the car to chill out, BRILLIANT, live for the weekends!
Stoner Music:
Led Zeppelin - Dazed & Confused, Time, Houses of the Holy, Kashmir
The Tubes - pretty much all of it before they went "Pop"
Yes - Round about (pretty much the entire Yessongs album)
Aerosmith - "Rocks" & "Toys in the Attic"
shiit mates, the whole friggin 70's and 80's seemed to be stoner music... I could go on and on....
Meditative:
Ravi Shankar - Live at Monterey
Talking Heads
you get the idea...
unreal isnt he, ill never forget the beach party i went to in greece, 6 in morning sun coming up armin van buuren started what was ment to be a 2 hr set at 2am and is still goin strong something else. . . . . .arman van helden was at headlining oxygen a while ago but it aint regular for them, armin van buuren is houslehold name over here while arman van helden not so much, and im sure it opposite over with you. . . .on another note, was it part of his a state of trance tour or something else, i know he being trying to raise his profile over there last year or two releasing remixes and colleraberations into the charts but that isnt his usual style
van buuren i think is bigger here.
No he was here for stat of trance in the spring
This was just him spinning at a club
