I'm trying to shed some body fat. It's been a LONG time since I ate right or worked out right. Any suggestions on how I can design a meal plan and/or workout I should combine together?

    Welcome to the board!

You can start by reading this sticky http://forums.steroid.com/showthread...g#.TuqwyrKBrBI

We can address the workout routine as well, but start here.

What does your current diet look like?

I need to consume 2,500 cal, day. 40g pro, 40g carb, 10g fat spread over 6 meals. Are there any sample diets I can look at?

So you eat nothing at all?

Obviously I'm being sarcastic. What I'm asking is for you to post up a typical day's diet, whatever that may be. Just list what you'd generally eat on an average day.

Have you read the sticky I linked?

also, what about your training? Are you planning on exercising? What are your current stats? Ht/wt/age/bf%/exercise experience. Be specific about goals (shedding bodyfat is generic, lose 20lbs of fat, gain 10lbs of muscle and get down to 38% bodyfat, is specific and much more likely to be obtained when it is aimed at. Glad you are here, we have no idea how to help you without the above information and pictures are actually the best thing you can do to get the most out of your experience here by taking advantage of the vast amount of knowledge and support available. 2500 cals and the breakdown might be the furthest thing from what you need to accomplish your personal goals.

I don't have a typical daily diet. I normally eat whatever is available, and too much of it. I might eat a banana around 8, then a 12" turkey sub from Subway, maybe a burger and fries for supper? Sometimes it might be soup and cornbread for supper? I'm not on a very good diet or schedule. However, I am in the process of turning these bad habits around right now!
    I'm 37, weigh 226lbs, prob 30%bf, 6'1".
I've made it in to the gym 3 times this week, and gotten a good burn. Today I started the 5x5 workout(it looks simple enough to get started with).

My main goal is to shed enough bf to get rid of my gut. I'd like to lose 30lbs of fat. It won't bother me to pack on muscle weight, as long as the fat comes off.

I'm fairly athletic, even though I'm overweight. I played tennis the last 5 years very regularly. The last six months I've had to stop because of some rotator probs and a new baby.
