    New looking for advice

I'm 6' 3" and 165 lbs and trying to gain lean muscle. I've taken injectable Testosterone for six months before to okay results & quit because I had horrible pain in my thigh where I did the injection. I also was unable to lose the last bit of belly fat.

I work out six days a week and mix cardio and weight lifting for 45 min to an hour. I also mix in P90X & Insanity Work Out.

I am on a healthy diet of lean protein, fruits, veggies, oatmeal, etc

What is recommended and anything that's not injectable?

My goal is to get to 175 lbs and lose the last it of belly fat. I'm not try to get huge. And if I begin do I need to stay on the program forever?

    Thanks for the help.

Check out the nutrition forum. I think you'd get a lot of help there!

not sure of why/how you got on trt before and you should have mentioned your dose and age as well

also could have tried injecting in glutes where 99% of ppl claim to have ZERO pain

who prescribed your injectibles before and you didnt discuss the pain with them? and/or consider a different approach?

If you were on T therapy and then came off, I must presume that was a decision you made with your doc. Honestly from your post it sounds like you simply want to use testosterone for off label use, or cycle steroids. That's entirely not what this forum is for though.

If you're considering T therapy the best place to start is, what are your bloodwork numbers?

Aside from members here wanting to know more about your situation...injecting does not have to be painful if done correctly. Additionally, the gels are available if you just can't get past the injection thingy. P90X and Insanity are not going to put much, if any, mass on you. You may benefit from more traditional weightlifting routines which tend to emphasize gaining muscle mass. The excess belly fat is more of a diet problem, assuming you get enough exercise.

The members here will be very helpful if you let them. They just like to have a better idea of your health situation.

Thanks for all the comments/questions. The TRT was prescribed by a Cenegenics Doc after all the blood work etc. If I remember the dose was 4cc once per week. I followed all the instructions and did an injection with the Dr. present to make sure I was following correct procedure/technique. He confirmed I was.

The pain normally came a day later each time and lasted a few days. It hurt like a muscle bruise and I actually had swelling, and inflammation. The Doc thought it might have been the solution and was going to switch to a different base of, I think Tea Oil. At that point I decided to stop because I felt I was spending way to much money with very little results/help/etc.

I also followed a very strict diet plan and still do today.

Thanks for the advice on the nutrition and supplements. I've been checking that out.

I'm not sure I'm interested in injections again and have been skeptical of being scammed on creams or oral supplements.

good for you Lanky! i had a problem with the sesame oil base getting sore and swelling, it all stopped once i switched to cotton seed oil and grape seed oil base. like JPK said, gluts are the least painful place to pin, or better yet why not try SQ injection?
