well as yall know im now taking or probably was taking armour thyroid as recommended by my doc to get my free t3 levels "optimal".. theyre not low mind u just not optimal.. well last nite i fell asleep on the couch , as i usually do, and woke up and went downstairs to go back to sleep.. as i was laying there i noticed i sort of woke up and started feeling an unusual sensation in my chest.. within 2 minutes my heart was beating fairly rapidly and hard.. immediately my mind went strait to the armour thyroid that i debated on even trying and finally decided to give a shot..after i got over the initial anxiety i went and chekd my blood pressure.. it was 147/74 pulse 84(which i know the pulse isnt high but its usually 58 when im at rest and it had slowed down alot by then).. BP is usually like 125/68.. i did manage to get settled back down and fell asleep about 1.5 hrs later..
i dont know about yall but to me having a less than optimal thyroid is way less of a deal to me than waking up with uncontrollable rapid heartbeats.. i think i remember reading somewhere that others experienced this phenomenon due to TRT but im convinced this episode was the thyroid meds..this was listed as one of the potential sides of the medication which led to my skepticism about even trying it... needless to say i have discontinued use of the armour thyroid.. curious as to yalls opinion..id also like to say ive only been taking it as prescribed for a week..
