New Canadian Member - Mainly Interested in Cognitive Enhan***ent

Researching this right now. Interested about 80% in the cognitive benefits (better memory, better mood, less timid - problems faced by I guess... a nerd) and 20% in the physical benefits. I'm not a competitive athlete and I'm a pragmatist. Instead of paying for flaky herbal bullshit I'd rather get something that works. Been working out fairly regularly for about a year now. Look good, but feel like a pansy. I'd also rather be cut than big.

I did some blood work earlier in the year. I'm going to get further info tomorrow, but I think my testosterone levels fell right in the middle of the range - mind you I'm a 26 year old man. They probably did LH, and estrogen there as well. Anyway, I interpreted that as average and moved on but who wants to be average?

My goals are a 30-50% or so boost in testosterone, see how that works out rather than necessarily making it easier to get big. I've read so far that it also makes it easier to lose fat so that's great too.

    Welcome to the board mate!
If your test levels are normal, I’d forget about trying to boost 50%. Not enough benefit, and too many risks. Just leave it alone and you’ll be fine.
Regarding the nootropics (that’s what it’s called), I believe I’ve tried em all. Never really noticed much of an effect. What does work, but extremely habit forming, are amphetamines and other similar stimulants. Therefore, I would not risk jeopardizing your health for anything like that. Quite often, a good strong cup of coffee works wonders. I’ve even been playing around with deprenyl, an anti aging compound for the brain. But unfortunately, other than some very marginal results which could be chalked up to placebo, I’ve never really ran across a nootropic that works.
But if you find anything, certainly let me know!
    Cheers

    Welcome mate,

Sounds as though you are looking to enhance your self esteem, You will not do that by using any substances, Just train as hard as you can and allow your brain to produce more seratonin. You will feel better, more confident and start to look and behave in different ways.
I would try this for at least 5 years before I embarked on any other type of chemical assistance. Your body is an amazing machine and you can tune it and improve it by making it work. Watch your diet or find the best diet you can, eat 6 or seven meals a day, train like a man possessed. Your mind is improving along with your body.

    Good luck, John

I'd also say keep training in the gym routinely. It's subtle, but over a long time your mood, confidence and energy increases as your health improves.
