I dirty bulked for like 6 months a few years back. Gained like 40 lbs naturally (this was before I started using AAS), maybe half of it was lean. I was eating fast food all the time, and inhaling several pounds of beef and sweet potatoes daily. I felt like shit and looked like shit (in retrospect), but I finally had a good base to build on and didn't look small anymore.
It isn't healthy, but it can be a great way to kickstart the bulking up process, especially in younger ectomorphs who have trouble eating enough clean food to grow.
I wouldn't recommend it for your situation, though.
