    Blood pressure drop? ? ?

We been at the pool most of the day. It's hot as fvck out, I been drinking plenty of water all day though. All the sudden I felt like someone kicked me in the chest and it was kinda hard to breathe. Nothing insane, but quite noticeable but without any chest tightness.

I got back in and checked my blood pressure, 103/84 < WTF is that man? Still feeling kinda rough but better.

No way for us to know. If you don't feel 100% soon, go to the ER for an EKG.

I feel pretty decent now, after sitting down for a bit.

What could this have been? Serious?

    I never heard of a BP drop. . . .

MIs and nearly every acute cardiovascular emergency usually cause a spike in BP for several hours (as the body attempts to perfuse the affected tissue by increasing vasoconstriction and heart rate), not a drop.

Op, list EVERYTHING that you're taking, with dosages.
    Any medical conditions?
What is your BP like normally?
    How old are you?

    Read this: http://www.dizziness-and-balance.com...thostatic.html

How soon after the incident did you take your BP? What position? Have you checked it since?
It could just be from exerting yourself in the sun, or it could be from some condition that I know nothing about. Your call, but I'd go to the ER for a few tests.

or they can drop bp and increase heartrate as the dead heart tissue is no longer contracting and hence not able to pump blood. the hr goes up to compensate for the lack of volume moving from the decrease of viable muscle tissue. Or so ive been told.

Still alive so far, it wasn't "that" bad. . . But, I think it is time to change my habits a bit.

That would be a later stage of shock (decompensated shock), as the body will initially compensate through intense vasoconstriction.

But we're just taking shots in the dark without monitoring equipment and a vitals trend (yeah, this is my job)

But thanks to a PM he sent me listing his current meds, I'm pretty sure this is simply a case of orthostatic hypotension (with chest pain from the sudden demand placed on the heart). Think of it like "lugging" an engine, by trying to accelerate from a crawl in 5th gear.

My heart rate never really seems to be out of whack, always right around 75BPM.

Fvck yeah it was, bro. . . The heat never phased me, but now I am holding an extra 30 pounds of fat that I am not used to and it really fvcks me up in this heat. I sweat when I talk. . . .

I can't wait to lose this fatness along with stopping my "regular" daily drinking.

Come to think of it, the fact that your chest really hurt enough that you're still feeling weird could very well be a symptom of some underlying condition.
I'd advise that you just go to the ER for that EKG.

I just don't know enough about you that I feel comfortable reassuring you based on an educated hunch. And the way you're now describing yourself, you sound pretty unhealthy...

might be a run of drop beats or ectopics just at that point that you felt unwell, later it may have reverted to normal rhythm. an EKG soon if you can, just to be sure that you're back to normal rhythm.

as long as it doesn't happen again, or not a sustained run of abnormal beats...you might be alright.

but like Bona said, to be really safe, get an EKG.

    when did your pct end?

if you feel ABSOLUTELY alright now, and if it doesn't occur again soon, it might be alright to get the ekg 1-2 wks later, as planned.

That's more of the milder things I need to lay off. . .

I start school in a little over a month, all my recreational BS will have to go out the door.
