I know I'm gonna be screwed being at the Jersey Shore since it's heading right at us. I'm hoping the worse will be losing power, but hopefully not too long.

Stay safe. Get out of there if need be.
I live in its path as well. Hopefully it doesn't suck too much. Really wish I had bought that generator about now....

It doesn't look that great for the east coast, especially NJ or NY. I'd stock up and evacuate if it gets too bad. Best of luck.
Yeah I'm out in long beach, I'm just hoping by the time it hits it isn't as bad as they're anticipating otherwise ill be playing survivorman for a little while
I'm sure EVERYONE in the US will be affected in one way or another. At the very least OPEC will find it a reason to raise the gas prices again.
There's also a tsunami warning in effect for the British Columbia coast after a major magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck the Queen Charlotte Islands region a few hours ago.

I guess the 2012 conspiracists were right...
Yeah I got to get my generator out.We may lose power they say.
looks like it was nothing. That is a good thing.Glad everyone is safe.
I am going to be where it hits. Anyone want to come over and comfort me when the lights go out?

Man, living in MN sucks. We never see any cool natural disasters. (don't freak out because I said natural disasters are cool, people.)
We don't have tornadoes, that's a myth. Not once have I seen or heard of a real tornado that actually did damage in the 22 years I've been living here. That bridge fell due to poor construction and inadequate inspection. I'm talking about hurricanes, tsunamis, and earthquakes. While those three things might be really destructive, I would still like to live through them for the experience.
^ lmao!
Lol ^^^
No you don't man. I mean I'm in NY so it's nt so bad here, but the damage the storms cause to your property can be devastating. Not to mention can leave you living in a powerless house for over a week. I can't stand when there's a storm coming, I can't imagine having to live through the actual front of it.Originally Posted by ShredMN
No work today. Already in front of the computer with my pants around my ankles.
State of emergency where im at. They say no driving unless necessary. Im still going to the gym.
Started evacuating people on the water here, I'm about 3-4 blocks up so I hope we don't have to go! Still got power....for now.

Its getting pretty bad here as far as winds etc. Rain has slowed but winds picking up big time. We are supposed to get the worst of it from tonight into tomorrow am. Power has flashed on and off a few times so far. Hope it isnt as bad as they are saying , but it looks like it is going to be pretty bad.
That's the plan!Originally Posted by kelkel

A little late in the thread, but up here in Canada (Toronto for me) I got a call from my superiors in the army yesterday informing me to be prepared to be called out for emergency management should things get out of hand up here. We don't know if we're going to get hit hard by it or not, because they say the Toronto area SHOULD be right at the edge of the hurricane as it passes, but there is a risk that it may turn in a North West direction instead of directly West in which case we'd be very fvcked lol.
Just want to say my thoughts have turned towards our friends on the eastern seaboard. I hope all of you will be safe, dry, and warm, throughout this potentially very dangerous storm. If you have been evacuated i hope that you return safely to your home as soon as possible.
Peace and godspeed to those that are effected.
Still alive in NYC. Worst part of Sandy so far for me was that gym was closed when I got home from work.
Yea I'm lucky I'm not in an evacuation area. A guy at work paid $700 for 2 nights in a hotel 4 blocks from his apartment. He has a big bull dog so I guess no other hotels would take him.
A bit nasty in DE tonight. Seems the eye went right over my location. Never lost power but got a few leaks. Wicked wind....
Wow it's a lot worse than I though it was going to be. Power outages are not big deal but all the flooding and now fires? That sucks.
I'm sorry for anyone who is having to go through this right now. Thoughts are with you.
