Steroids aren't far burners per se. Yes, they can affect metabolic processes and help with weight goals (gain or loss) but its not the ideal approach and could easily lead to water retention and bloating even with a test-only cycle. Add to this all the other side effects you would have to deal with and it makes more sense to take a closer look at nutrition.
I personally would not recommend a steroid cycle to someone looking to drop a few pounds.
