    Post Ready or not?

    Hello ladies and gents,

New to the board and loving it, seems like the bible of roids with all the info on here.

I've been gym'ing since I was around 15 (23 now), probably started getting some good training under my belt at around the age of 18. Unfortunately it has been on and off training, mainly during the summer months, had to work like a horse, and gym suffered greatly.

Been researching gear for quite some time, the more I learn about it, the more I am tempted to cycle.

Anyway, the main thing I wanted to ask was, how did you know that you was ready to cycle?
Was it simply hitting a plateau for a few months in strength/size/bodyfat after having diet, training and rest in check?

Just interested in peoples thoughts and experiences before deciding to start their first cycle...

    Cheers : )

Currently shredding up, which is why I haven't started a cycle just yet.

I just want to know from peoples past experiences when is the point people decide OK, now I'm going to cycle...

When you feel you've done everything humanly possible to max out your gains naturally. Get a couple more years under your belt with consistent (not intermittent) training and nutrition and then make an informed decision. Stick around here and keep learning in the meantime!

Welcome to the forum. Take the time to read all the stickies and visit the other forums as well. Plenty to learn!

I don't think you really need gear to shred up. I've always seen them as a tool mainly to get huge. Any good low carb high protein diet will get your body fat % in check.

Yes. I hit a plateau finally after 5 years straight of training.. Even with a almost perfect diet... Also it won't help you get lean, cardio and diet are for that...

Exactly what kelkel said. I had exhausted every avenue i knew to take. Nutrition, routines, rest, diet and still seemed i was spinning my wheels. So at 27 i called my friend and got over that plateau. And it's fun to hit the gym off cycle to see how i do as opposed to what i did on cycle.

I'm going to be honest and tell you I started AAS through pure PIER pressure. I was training ok but wanted to look like the guys at the gym straight away, I started orals and 'bulked' up then lost it a couple of times before I found this site, then realised I was an IDIOT.

There is far too much info you need to learn before cycling. Your body is far too delicate to be taking risks with, that being said you live and learn.

I would never advise anybody to do what I done but there are a lot out there who have, have to commend you OP gathering info on the subject before committing, I wish I had done it that way around.

I waited till I just couldn't do it naturally anymore and felt like I wasn't the man I used to be. This is an interesting read check it out...

I competed in powerlifting so it helped put me over the hump.

Didn't think anyone would admit to pier pressure being the main reason, big up to big siv.

That 5 d's was a great read, thanks for that.

The reason I ask (and this is probably going to annoy some people) is because, in terms of efficiency and logical reasoning it seems unreasonable and illogical to take the 'long way round'... IF and only if, you have reaped the benefits of natty training (discipline, work ethics, mental attitude etc) and do not experience any sides for starting earlier.
I'm not saying I've attained all the benefits of natty training or that I'm trying to seek acknowledgment from vets to justify me cycling because I have time...So please don't start raging, this is more of a discussion/debate that I find quite interesting since I get plenty anti-steroid views from family and friends but this is the only place where I can see pro-steroid points of view.
Would you drive the car long way round to work?

Yes, if the short cut had potentially long term damaging results to my car.

There you go. One of the most productive things I think a bodybuilder can do is to powerlift a bit (and vice-versa.) Both fun and productive and will help your long range goals.
