    Red face A senior member has been banned

    Big-G has been banned - why? regretably after several warnings, several complaints were made of him soliciting our members and evidence was provided that proved it - therefore, we had to take the neccessary steps to enforce the rules to protect our members. This is sad, because I really felt that Big-G had come a long way from where he started in being able to fit in socially here and make a real contribution.

    Just thought I would let everyone know before a thread comes out asking - and to serve as notice to others not to make the same mistake.

    I thought it was for bad mouthing not soliciting he always had an adittude when that guy with the chainsaw got kicked off I dont even know how people get enough money do become a salesman

    I got his "list" in my P.M. box not too long ago. He was selling vet gear mostly. He was an odd dude, not surprised he got banned.

    The best thing to do when you are solicited by a member is report it to a mod. Solicitors are often scammers pretending to be helpful. Reporting them could save other members from getting scammed.

    we dont have any particular problem with members sourcing a little on the side or getting extra and flipping it, etc... - we do have a BIG problem with anyone soliciting members by PM or email - sending lists, etc. unasked for - proven sources dont need to do that anyway

    I don't think thats been proved, but the rule is there to protect members from solicitors in general. He was most likely buying from his source and marking up the prices.

    you could tell that in many of his posts that he was willing to trade gear or help a bro out whenever some newbie said "I wish I could get my hands on ..."

    As far as Big-G being Big-G, I thought he was an alright guy, but rules are rules. I'm sure he will be back.

    Not much to say about this, except that the mods and vets have their duties and these duties have a purpose. So if it is for the best, then I support their decision. This pretty much applies to most of the bans... i'm pretty confident that if you get banned, you probably deserved it. Hope to see big-g back one day if things work out.
