    Paleo

I would like to hear how everyone feels about a paleo diet ? I plan on starting a 100% paleo with no cheat meals on January 1. The past few weeks I have been reading and experimenting in the kitchen. It is definitely a whole new way of eating and cooking.

just another fad b/s diet perpetuated by the crossfit cult and widely accepted by the ill informed arrogant opinion of crossfit fanatics who look like they have not worked out a day in their life.

Stick with what has proven to work if you want results.

Specific diets like Atkins or paleo are generally bs. Eat healthy by choosing a goal and figuring macros you need to achieve that goal.

There are a lot of cf guys who are ripped!
    Back to the diet.
The proper way is to educate yourself and know what your eating to determine your goals. If you do not know your macro break down you are seriously short changing your progress.
I will not bash your diet your going on but I will say there is definitely a better way with long term results

Different diets sometimes work for some. I agree with you that that method works for most though. I'm still curious to see his results

FTR...the guy I know who is on it doesn't really consider it a diet, but the way he eats. He's completely happy with it and plans on eating that way indefinitely.

I have read 6 different books as have been researching this diet for several weeks now. What I really like about it is you don't have to have 7 small meals a day or watch your macros, calories, sugar, salt, fats ....you just f#^king EAT.

I'm not sure how it is for other people but eating clean is a 24/7 job that gets old.

If you go this saying you can't go wrong !
"If it doesn't grow, if its doesn't eat stuff that grows, don't eat it"

All paleo try's to do is get rid of all your chemically added substances that we take in everyday. Sugars, salts, trans fat, corn syrup. All the preservatives that these companies add to our food to make it last longer.

What's wrong with eating fruits, vegetables, meats, nuts, eggs ???????????

If you do not have a macro break down you will be losing or gaining depending on what you eat. You can't grow muscle on a calorie deficit (maybe running tren you can) and if your to high you will be gaining fat.
Fruits nuts meat are perfect to eat as long as you know how much to eat etc..

Can someone help me find then post to this thread a picture of people from 100 years ago that shows them overweight ????????

Back then prior to all the preservative and extra carbs/gluten they ate almost a paleo diet. Diabetes and someone being overweight was unheard of !!!!!!

I don't consider it a diet either ........ More like a way to eating healthier without all the work.

I did it my self and its really good, My goal was loose some bf% and got fit as much i could, It was really hard in the begging special with the cross fit exercise, its totally differentiated from work in the gym, was more cardio that any thing, but at the some time i believe I lost some muscle. If your goal its loose bf% and got fit go for it. The food and cooking was good too, i had no problem eating. good luck to you.

I just read the thread again and didn't see, but might have missed it, your goals. What are your goals? To add muscle? Reduce fat?

Are we talking about the Jake Sheilds that is in the UFC ?????

If so, I have either not seen a recent pic of him or we are not talking about the same guy. I'm definitely not impressed with his physique. Just my opinion.

I have a friend that does Crossfit and follows a mostly Paleo diet. He is putting on mass because he eats enough. He eats brown rice even though it isn't part of the diet.

He likes the simplicity and it works for him.

I think so lol that's who i'm thinking of.
As a 19 year old I was bigger than him so i'm not really impressed by his size. I'm more impressed with the fact that he's a well known fighter at 19 haha I thought he was much older

I think the paleo diet is a solid foundation. Cut out processed foods and eat a lot of fruits, veggies, and quality protein and fats. However, for someone that trains hard day in and day out I don't think a 100% strict paleo diet is the answer. When someone is training hard they are taxing their glycolitic pathway and need a lot of carbs for energy, etc. In my opinion a low carb paleo approach is not optimal to maximize your performance. Even the elite crossfiters don't eat paleo. I eat pretty close to a paleo diet, with a lot of sweet potatoes, rice, bread every now and then and whey protein. Give it a try see if you like it.

That makes a lot of sense. Nothing is ever perfect, why would this specific diet be?
