It's the culture. A lot of Russian and Eastern Bloc countries do not like black people. Same in China and Japan. But the mentality of the fan that watches football doesn't help as most are working class. Even in the more affluent regions like the UK, Spain, Italy, there is a percentage of fan that hate black players.

You just dont get racism from the crowd in things like Tennis, Rugby, Golf.....what's it like in things like NFL, Basketball, Baseball, etc?

Well since 90% of the players in the nfl, nba, and mlb are a minority it would be damn hard for white people to hate blacks and still root for a team.

A team walked off the pitch in Italy the other day as one of their players was suffering racist jibes. Football (soccer) racism is limited in the UK, France and some smaller European countries but, as Milky says, there are a number of Eastern European countries where there a number of Neo Nazi's and also a number of these countries have very few black/ethnic minorities living in them. A lot are also recently out of communism.

What's to stop them? FIFA fine an individual more for wearing an unauthorised sponsors vest than they do an international football federation for racist chanting!

I think the moral of this story is... IF you want to go to Russia, don't get a tan or use Melatonan 2, cause they might think you black :-) Hulk is in fact from Brasil, BUT was playing in Porto ( Portugal) and was the best player in Portugal... and he´s NOT black... just because someone is a little darker then normal, does not make them black... Fifa should ban teams from countries where racism is prevelant from all International competition.

A true skinhead is friendly with all walks of life but his biggest passion is ska music which originates from Jamaica...
They not too unlike rasta's smoke ganja always wanna enjoy the party but absolutely love ska and the only thing they don't really like is rules they are anti establishment but not in an antagonistic way just placid but don't like conforming to rules
They're are nothing and I mean nothing like the neo nazis that we all see with big boots and skin heads

As an American I grew up thinking I lived in the most racist country on the planet, Boy was my ass wrong, EU, Asia, ME, Africa are the most racist places on earth with India ringing in at #1. USA's racism can in no way compete with the rest of the world.

Sports like NFL, basketball, and baseball have too many "people" of colour playing for every team for and group of bigots to get behind a particular team. So you'd never find it in those sports.

Hockey on the other hand has quite the number of bigots attending their games. You'd be surprised how many times you'd hear the "n-word" when Anson Carter's team was playing. Or NASCAR too. I went to one race once (I don't even like stock car racing) and you guys have no idea how many confederate flags I'd see in the parking lot tailgating.
