The OTA came to my iPad and phone..I'm afraid to upgrade because I am having problems with my mobile me account and iCloud account. I don't want to lose my contacts, pictures and music. Anyone can help would be greatly appreciated.

You should be fine to upgrade as long as you have everything backed up to iTunes.

If you are no Jailbroken or Unlocked you will be just fine. Just back everything up 1st.
I would still recommend the update being done through iTunes. OTA is more likely to fvck up.

make sure you have a backup. I upgraded to ios6 and it erased my pictures

I was told every app needs to be re-downloaded, is this bullshit?

Deleted all my apps and pictures. It froze half way through. Had to let my phone die before I could restore...took two days lol

I updated mine via iTunes & all went well.
