    Eating times

What are your recommendations on times of the day to eat. How long before after workout to maximize nutrients from the food. I wake up at 5 am and am working out around 6:30 normally. Right now I'm running 2000 cals a day below tdee. 60/30/10 thanks guys!

If you're looking for an energy boost from a preworkout meal, I'd go with 1.5 - 2 hours prior. Stick with slow burning complex carbs. As for the remainder of meals, doesn't really matter when you eat them IMO.

I wake up around 4:40am and am in the gym by 6... similar to your schedule.

Thx GB, I normally eat raw oats in my post work out shake... I'm going to switch my 1st and second meal and see if that helps. The only carbs I currently eat are raw oats, sweet pot, broc. Once I hit my BF % I'm looking for I can up that for energy. I try and eat every 2.5-3 hrs to keep my metabolism running but not sure if it is doing what it's suppose to.

Don't sweat meal frequency. Despite what's been pounded into our heads for decades, meal frequency has no effect on metabolism. Eating frequent meals will not 'keep your metabolism running'. It'll run just fine whether you eat 1 large meal, or several smaller frequent meals. The biggest factor by far is to hit your macro and caloric requirements. If you consume 2000 calories in 1 meal or 8, your body has to metabolize 2000 calories. Larger meals will simply take longer to digest. So if eating every 2.5 - 3 hours has you feeling like a slave to dieting (I know it did for me), rest easy my friend, and just listen to your body and eat when you need to/have time to - but DO hit your daily goals.

Just curious is that a spelling mistake?
I agree with what gb said on when to eat, it doesn't make a lick of difference like he states 1 meal or 8. In reality, its better for your body to eat less meals a day due to insulin activity

I think his point is that you may have missed a number. It reads like you are eating 2000cals under tdee. Not that you are eating 2000cals which is ****cals under tdee
