Is there anything that helps control the "roid" acne? I get random big ones and scattered Lil ones while on cycle. Mainly tops and back of shoulders down onto my lats. Thanks for any help.

Zinc and B5 is a good start.

Also, here's a solid thread on Steroidal Acne.

I take minocycline 100mg twice a day. Saved me. Although I still get a few.
Accutane works best for me but its really harsh. Try to get a good wash (I like acne annihilator by platinum labz) and jut eat clean and drink a lot of water.
Tanning helps me loads but not everyone likes the idea

When I took it I was advised by my doctor to take 20mg ED for a month then I stayed on 40mg ED for about 5 months. Cleared all acne for several years until I started my first cycle
I should note I had to get bloodwork done every month before I could get my script.
Interesting. Pretty aggressive dose. But everyone is different.

I've always heard Accutane worked well.
Thank you. I looked it up. Seems to be a good comboOriginally Posted by austinite

Thank you. Looks like a good med. it has to be prescribed? Lots of risk for sides tooOriginally Posted by tdoe11
Thank you accutane has worked for people I know who aren't on cycles. It has to be prescribed by dermatologist? And acne annihilator has good reviews too.Originally Posted by ChiveOn
Getting out in the sun if I can helps too. I just have to have time to go in the sun
Accutane works very well but is harsh. 10% benzoyl peroxide wash works extremely well; exfoliate the area, rub the wash on, and let it sit a few mins. then wash it off. OR, if your acne is exceptionally bad, shower-->apply it once you're dry-->put t-shirt on over it and go to bed. you'll feel a little sticky, but this seriously works better than anything ive ever tried. you wake up in the morning with visible results
I'm taking accutane at 80mg ED and its not really too harsh.....I got slightly chapped lips and it made me breakout (sometimes it gets worse before it gets better). I didn't have issues with tanning either because I also take MT-II which seemingly is stronger at protecting me from the sun than accutane is at making the sun my arch enemy.
I've only been on it for about 2 weeks so far though.
Aggressive I was on 80 a dayOriginally Posted by austinite
Nizoral dandruff shampoo on acne destroys it
Yeah I don't see 40mg as aggressive it's about half the amount regularly prescribedOriginally Posted by FONZY007
Also, remember to take Accutane with some fat. I space it 12 hours apart and eat two table spoons of natural PB (plus a meal) to help increase absorption.
I'd like to add that managing your E2 levels is the most important aspect of combating acne. That being said, I've found the link Mickey posted to be extremely helpful.
