    amonia breath and high protein

So yesterday for the first time i started smelling amonia. I blew it off till today i smelt it also, then i started researching it and got scared about kidney failure. Then i learned reading on a low starch diet or high amounts of protein that you get it also.

My question, does anyone know for sure if tis a bad sign or just something that will go away when i get my diet back to regular. Is this a good sign, I am eating enough protein, i was doing like some had said on here and increased to 1# chicken, can only do 4 eggs in the morning, 2 protein bars (20g protein), 2 protein shakes (20 g protein). Sometime I eat ground beef in between meals, 1/2 cup rice once a day, a banana plus alternating vegitables, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts and carrots. only 140 pounds fyi.

I forgot the can of tuna with tsp mayo light and mustard at night time.

I am averaging 2374(or 2566 on work out days) calories between 100-137 g carbs, 206(252) protein

the two shakes i take are muscle milk since there easy when im working and walking in the kitchen or at my desk

After working out i take phormula-1 whey it has another 192 calories 2 g carbs 46 g protein, that is betwen 4-5 days a week depending on work schedule.

not sure my fat content actually i will try and find that out.

yeah i researched that, that was my first thought with ketosis and vitamin C. But i have carbs in my diet just nost as much as i used to. I am hoping its jsut high protein which when being burnt up cna cause an amonia smell and urine to smell weird. Thought for sure someone here might have seen this especially with as low Bf% i see poeple getting too. If it persists I will up my carbs, but just keep lean meats and lower my fats. I wasn't eating lean.

Have you suddenly massively increased your protein intake? What veggies do you eat? How much water do you drink daily?

My sweat smells like ammonia at the the gym more times than not, I drink rediculous amount of water and my protein intake varies from 35-40% of my diet which my total cals are 3500.....

Have never really given the issue to much thought...

Anyone got more info on this, a bit concerned about the kidney thing,us drinking lots of water a good or bad thing? Good right? It flushes your kidneys correct?

That news read was a bit shocking, at least my body is getting rid of the ammonia right? In the form of sweat, my speaking wet gym shirts absalutely stink of it when I've been sweating hard in the gym even after washing them sometimes

So for anyone interested, i didn't eat the two protein bars today and didn't have the breath. I found out whatever the body cant use of the protein it turns into amonia. Basically something called deanimation, can't link im too new butits a pretty interesting read.
So, basiclly I had too much protein. Might try Soy substitues and see if I can get the calories with out so much meat and see how that works out.
