My buddies and i usually(back in the day) shared a bottle of something. so yeah, we sat close to each other. Most of the time it was stolen Mad Dog 20/20...
Then we got brave enough to hit on chicks that were way too old and out of our league. But fun nonetheless!!

I haven't been to a movie with a buddy in over 35 years, and i don't recall what the seating arrangements were. Although I do recall going with a buddy and a girl once. My buddy and I sat together, and her on the other side. Does that count, DSM?

I don't go to movies but when I go to quarterly meeting in a huge auditorium if I go with another coworker (male) they always leave a seat between us unless the place is packed and they have no choice. Could be people just don't want to get so close to me. Personally i don't mind sitting right next to guys as long as they do not talk to me.

Depends, here where I live there is VIP area that has large reserved seats that have tables between them. In this case no gap is required.

Really we leave no gap, adjacent seats is fine. The friends I go to the cinema with are very close friends, we've been naked with fat girls, drunk in a hot tub. And there is one night out that he had forbid me to mention again. So with this sort of friendship there isn't any awkwardness. I'm comfortable with my sexuality, no reason to leave a gap!

Uhhh....I guess it depends. I don't really go to movies with dudes but when I was a teenager if I went with my guy friends I think we usually left a seat unless we were drinking...
I think the last time I went to a movie with a dude we sat next to each other....but I'm not really sure.

it really depends. if the place is really empty, then i'd prefer to have a space between, since most men are arm rest hogs, no?
but if it looks like there's going to be a lot of people, i have no problem sitting next to another man.

i dont leave a seat in between. how would i steal there popcorn from a seat away? the arm rest thing i seem to fold my arms when i sit at the movies so i guess they get the arm rest
