    Clean bulking while on deployment

So I will be deploying to Afghanistan in a few months. My plan is to bulk while I am there (about a year) and then get a trainer and compete in at least figure when I get back. I am 5' 6" 125 lbs around 20% bf and 25 years old. I've never really bulked before; tried once but eating that much food is not easy for me. However I am determined to reach my goals and rock that stage when I get home so any advice on macros and work outs would be greatly appreciated. I plan on being natty while deployed so please only advice on natural supplementation. When I am ready for physique that will more than likely change but for now keep it natty. Thank you.

smart to keep it natty for now. high protein and clean carb diet is your friend when bulking. also try Austinite's fat loss stack to help you from gaining unwanted fat. my suggestion for macros would be 50/40/10 protein, carbs, fats. and add 20-25% additional cals above your maintenance.

Austinite's Fat Loss Protocol using Over the Counter Products.

Good luck with your progress and thank you for you service. My advice mirrors Bass' here: calculate your BMR, choose an activity factor based on how active you are (1.2-1.4 sedentary, 1.4-1.6 moderately active, 1.6+ athlete or extremely active), and from these calculate your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure). Once you get this number I would suggest eating in a 10-20% surplus. The less the surplus the slower the progress but less fat accumulation. Get around 1g/lb BW or more of protein, .4/lb BW of fat, and the rest of your calories from more protein, carbs, more fats, or any combination of macros.

Based off of what i know about my mission conditions shouldn't be too bad. I also have great support home and abroad as well as connection to get the supplementation and nutrition I need. I know some days it will be impossible to keep up with my diet and workouts (war is hell) but we do what we can and hopefully my genetics can pick up where I slack.

Are you going to a major FOB , such as KAF or Bogram? If so stick to the chow halls that aren't American. They actually offer a good variety. The American chow halls are almost all deep fried food. I was deployed out there as well. Wasn't on a major fob but when we did go to one that is what we noticed.

I'm about to go to basic and was told ill most likely be stationed in Italy because of Airborne, but you will achieve a lot when you get deployed. Id follow bass's advice and go with 50|40|10, cant do any cycling since ill be tested on cardiograph so ive been naturally bulking and ive gained 3lbs an lost .30% bf in the past week. Good luck in your upcoming deployment!

Thank you all for your advice and support. In reply to what FOB I will be at yes it is a larger one. Because of the type of mission I will be on I should be in pretty good living conditions in comparison to most. While deployed I will try and post and keep up with updates. Thank you all again. ^_^
