Sick of how difficult they are making it to buy Sudafed

I was in the US over the summer, and wanted to buy some sudafed, because I find it really good for when I have a cold. The last time I bought some was two years ago which was the last time I was in the US. I handed over my driver's licence, and the woman at Walgreens put whatever info into the computer, and she told me she could not sell it to me. She said they had me on the computer as buying some very recently, which of course, was physically impossible as I wasn't in the country. :-(

I started looking for some way around this nonsense, and I did find something. Finally, a sensible way to deal with the sudafed cops:

So this procedure is to make Pseudoephedrine from crystal meth? As difficult as getting a package of sudafed is, don't you think it'd be tougher for somebody that doesn't use rec drugs to secure meth?

Hey guys, in the end I was able to get to another chemist to sell me a decent sized box to last a couple of years, and bring it back with me. The whole thing is just a pain.

I posted the article because I thought it was funny that the authors argued that while Sudafed is hard to get, crystal meth is easy to get, and the irony that while some people are buying Sudafed to synthesise crystal meth, I need to buy crystal meth in order to synthesise Sudafed!! And the article basically outlines the synthesis. But really, the US govt or whoever started all these Sudafed laws should have a look and realise how ridiculous this is.

Quite honestly the pseudoephedrine law has been very effective at curbing the manufacturing of meth in the US. It is much more difficult to gather the necessary ingredients than it was 10 years ago. Has it stopped or even slowed the meth problem in the US? NO! Thank Mexico for importing!

Just shows you the ban on these things should be lifted and the money spent on other things. Tax the user. Thats money for jam. But will a government just turn around and say " oh sorry chaps all those years of saying drugs are bad we take that back now"
