Sprained L4 & L5, popped rib right side with massive Rhombiod Minor Spasms

Like the title says. Initially injured first week of February. After a month of battling with Worksafe I finally got myself into physio and rehab. The problem, they treat me like a little old lady. I had to sit down with my physiotherapist and explain in detail how active I am, and that I need much more of a challenge in my rehab program. Finally getting the work that I need. No real questions here I guess, more of a frustrated rant!!!

Rant your frustration away, if you can. Injuries are one thing, but dealing with and/or finding the right doctor/therapist/etc. is another. Good ones are out there, but sometimes hard to find. Speedy recovery!

It'd probably be wise to not do that again.

Like any Dr. they will have specialities. A Dr. of physical therapy is a broad term, they may have more home health, SNF, acute care abilities. If you are active find a PT who works sports medicine, usually close with a team ortho, they will better suit you

Right now I'm doing rehab with a physiotherapist 5 days a week, 4 hours a day. it started with a lot of stretching and core strenght, but now we're moving into much more functional movement type training and some higher rep low weight lifting. That's on top of chiropractic and trigger point therapy with IM needles through my physician. Right now it looks like graduated return to work by the 15th of April, then finished fully beginning of may; just in time for spring football

Sounds like you are doing it right. I had a rib out in my back on the right side for years and didnt know it. All I knew is sometimes it was almost unbearable and when I got adjusted by chiropractors I had them avoid that area because it always made it worse.

I found a Chiropractor due to my shoulder injury who did H.I.T. and on my initial exam he noticed the rib and wanted to adjust it. He did it only slightly different than other chiropractors did my upper/middle back but he got it in the first try and instead of feeling 10x worse 1hr later it felt better than it had in years for 3 or 4 days and then slowly started hurting again. After a few more visits it pretty much stayed in.

    Good luck with your PT.
