Looks like A&E found a way to keep their viewership and hopes their gay and gay supporters employees/viewers will be assuaged by their public service announcements promoting tolerance.

It was definitely a catch 22 for A&E.. The rest of the cast wasn't willing to move forward with production without Phil, and at the end if the day, A&E wasn't willing to part ways with ratings and the subsequent income.
