Love it.
.....
Sick of seeing people on phones in the gym, I leave my phone in the car charging while I'm in the gym it's were it should be 45-60 mins isn't going to kill you if I am away from it
^^^ I leave in car also most of time unless I forget my MP3 player I love people bring there dam iPad wtf
I bring it in to listen to music but don't take calls unless I have to (work). When I do I go outside or in the locker room.
I carry my phone with me but it is for the music,I mute the phone the minute I walk in the gym.
I have no problem with people texting in the gym but get the he!! away from the equipment when you do!
Lol lb did you do that vid? I had an acient series two ipod that served me well up until 4 months ago, when it fell outta my pocket onto the floor and was chest pressing left the weight drop from the bench from failing on the last set and well the ipod was destroyed lol
I used to have a training partner that was constantly on his phone when we would train. I kicked him to the curb and everyone that knows me knows that I never take my phone to the gym with me. I tell them straight up that I will not be disturbed when I am training
I just recently started taking my phone to the gym. I started a new strength workout and need to log my exercises and sets. I just leave the phone on silent.
That photo represents the difference between training to be a champion and training to be social
I keep my training logs on an app that runs on my phone. Maybe I should stop that, I might look uncool using my phone to document my workouts!

Whats wrong with a pen and a copy book? I still have mine from when I first started but have had many phones since then
Phone for music. Note book for log.
Yip note book & pen phone gets left in the car wee mp3 player in ma pocket sorted
I came in here to say 'what about those who use phone to log workout, have a timer, etc' but it was said. As much as it would piss me off to find someone dicking around, I am not going to assume he is just cause of a phone. This day and age we use our phones for everything.
I myself have my own home gym and use good ol fashioned paper and pen, but during my rest between sets, you best believe I'm on my phone browsing the forums lol.
I'm not in the gym to try and look cool or keep touch with "friends" online. But, I do use my phone for the music and to log my lifts. Some great apps out there for tracking that are much more convenient than paper.
Arnold may think I am a trendy bitch for having my phone, but I don't care what he thinks either. I'm making gains m****r f****r!!!Just kidding, but I am making gains.
My gym has no cell service. Problem solved.
This is so true. Gym is my time. I dont even take phone. Whatever it is it can wait and the wife has number at gym in case of fam emergency. Nothing can happen at work that cant wait the hour till im done.
I almost took a picture of a guy in our gym the other day talking loud on his cell phone, leaning against the wall, directly under the NO CELL PHONES! sign. Lol.
Aren't you afraid of breaking your phone? I leave mine in my locker. I figure if anyone needs to get a hold of me, they can leave a message or a text and I'll get back to them when I'm free. If it's a real emergency, they can call the gym and ask the desk guy to call for me.
If I break my phone I will get a new faster better phoneOriginally Posted by Honkey_Kong
. No fear. I use phone for music. Some times I just put in my earbuds but don't play any music so use phone is a decoy. I don't take calls or text during my workout; that can wait but I do need my iTunes.
What app r u guys using to log your training?? Recommendations appreciated.![]()
I don't use one, but I've heard others recommend Fitness Buddy or My Fitness Pal
I use myfitnesspal for diet. I don't like it to log workouts. It pushes up my calories up so it looks like I can eat moreOriginally Posted by Igifuno

Come to think of it, when I go to the gym, everybody isn't all jacked liked in the videos from the 70's and 80's. I mean there are a few guys that are HUGE but most are closer to that pic's "today." It must be that crossfit bullshit. What do the oldtimers here think? Are people on average getting scrawnier at the gym?
I would not necessarily say scrawnier but yes they are not muscular by any means. You will see the same guys month after month or even year after year who are the say size as before, most lust fat, out of shape.
To many go to socialize or as in the video are on their phones the whole time and not really working out.
