tattoos and competing

I've always wanted to do a competition just to see how well I can do and compare myself to others. I was wondering how much can tattoos impact an overall rating from the judges? Does it differ between judges preferences? I have not seen too many big pros with extensive tattoos throughout their body. I spoke to a few people and they said that the spray on tan usually will eliminate them from view, but I am not 100% convinced. Any help? Googling this topic just gets some slight bro science with no real experiences..

And I mean "how well I can do.." is I come fully prepared and did my dieting perfect. Not one of those guys who gets on the stage and wings it.

Some guys worry about them but they shouldn't hurt you either way. Tons of guys compete with tats all over.

Thanks. I just wonder if the one right in the middle of my chest would hide any lines or striations, but I have never stepped underneath the lighting they have on stage. I'll just have to find out!
