First injury. I think it's one of the splenius muscles. Should I train?

I adjusted bent over row form.
Something just let go in my upper back and I felt dull pain.
I think it's one of the left splenius muscles.
It hurts when I move my head. I rested for a day and had ice on.
It hurts half less or something. Should I train?
Is it safe to do squats and deadlifts?

Give it a week of rest. If it still hurts, see a doctor; if not, slowly get back into your routine and go easy on it. I'd rather rest a week than have a permanent injury.

Thanks, I did just that, it healed. Took almost two weeks though, it was hard not to turn my head around.
    I needed a deload anyway.

for some strange reason, many weight lifters take the "no pain no gain" clique and morph that into injuries also.

If you hurt from injury, STOP!

    Let it rest and heal.

To "work through the pain of injury" is not safe nor intelligent.

And there is always TB500 to accelerate the time it takes to heal/rehab.

    Good luck!

What roman said . . . I used to try to work out as hard as I can and lift as much as I could. This results in injury. Know your limits and if you hurt yourself give your body time to heal correctly. Better than really hurting yourself. I also found that KT tape works well to help heal and prevent common old injuries.

right. better to work at 85% max capacity consistently over the years, than to go 100% and get injured every 18 months or so. For me, rehab can take up to six months.
