    Banned substances and Customs

Right, I recently flew back from Thailand, was over there for a month holidaying..whilst there I picked up a few goodies, taking advantage of there accessibility.
Now I always though Australia and New Zealand are among the top 5 countries for strictest border and customs..

So I sent some stuff back through my normal procedure, worked fine, no probs.

But when landing in New Zealand I was pulled out for a bag search, I wasn't phased by this at all, I had nothing dodgy in my bag, and don't take any recreational substances..
But whilst looking through a pocket he pulled out a tub of Clen and Cytomel..I couldn't believe it..

I had been so stupid and forgot they were in my bag..my heart sank and I thought I was in deep shit..he asked what they were and I just played dumb and said a fat loss pill I picked up..

He took them into the back room and did some research, I was waiting for him to come back out with a rubber glove on.
But he walks out and says yeah all good, asked why I was on them, as they came up with horrible side effects he was going through and I just said oh I'll prob throw them away.

Now I know I was very stupid, but it was a genuine mistake, I don't need everyone telling me the risks of getting caught etc..I know these.

What I'm surprised about is how lightly he just shrugged them off..are Clen and Cytomel actually completely legal and I've been misunderstood all these years?

Probably just had no desire to waste his time on a "small fish" in the pond.

Yup, sounds like you got lucky and I'm sure those are low level substances anyways and low quantity to boot.

My 1st trip to Thailand I got pulled to the side and checked when I got home also (US). They also wanted to search my laptop. No problem. After about 30 minutes of searching after I logged in and TRIED to show him where my pictures were kept the agent looked at me with a stern look then asked me "How old is this girl in the picture?" as he turned the computer screen towards me. I took a look and said she was 12 or 13 in that picture..... Long pause.... and I continued, that's my daughter. The guy turned about 6 shades of red and started stammering and apologizing. I just LOL and said it's not a problem, would you like to see my Thailand pictures now. He insisted he did not and I could go.

I have no idea why he asked her age. She is obviously no Asian and there was nothing strange or inappropriate about the picture. It was funny though and I have never been searched or pulled to the side since.

    Hot button items.

If a country has just placed a ban on "x" they are looking for "x" 99% of the time because the uninformed easily walk into bad situations.

Customs in prison for profit countries are looking for a trafficking bust. Your case (agreeing with above) was not attractive due to the volume. Using USA lingo it was also not a Schedule 3 item (cocaine, testosterone, etc). If they have to go look it up on a computer they have lists and quantities of the product that give a go or no-go prosecution action.

The most crap I ever had at customs was over vitamin E caps. They "had had an instance of smuggling Cocaine this way" and needed to verify my pills. I got my bottle back with no pills missing or punctured...so how the hell did they test it? Lazy po-po? lol

I am glad it went the way it did bro.
