By the time i'm finished my workout....

K, so by the time I'm finished with my workout I'm so depleted I actually feel sick. I only live minutes from my gym but I'm racing home to drink a shake because it makes me feel better. Recently this has been happening in the middle of my workout? and either have to cut my workout short, or I have to bring food to the gym and eat it in between sets. Is this normal?

Yes I do eat about 20 min before a workout, this morning I had 3/4 cup of oats, hand full of blueberries, a banana and a table spoon of peanut butter mixed in. I still had to stop mid workout and eat two hardbolied eggs and some crackers....and when I got home was feeling sick until I had my routine shake?

Old Roman here is going to tell you a story. So bear with me.

back in the Jurassic era, us old timers would use honey bottles to suck on during workouts. This prevents the "fade" you are talking about. We laugh about it today, but back then, not so much. I found it really improves the intensity of the workout and the duration of the workout.

Now, this is where 99 other blokes step in and tells me the evils of all the sugar, and how I should really just improve my diet to avoid the need for the honey.

    Blah blah blah

But I think if you try it, you will be surprised. It does help.

    Good luck!

this technique will work for most of us. unless you are on a specific diet, or are readying for a competition, then it should be ok. those with very low bf% will probably not want to try this, as all the sugar will make it harder to maintain bf%. But for the average body builder, it still works pretty good.
