    recent labs

High guys. My recent lab shows an increase in shbg and a large decrease in free testosterone. My overall testosterone has dropped too but I expected that bc of lowering my dose.

    Here are the results :

    T - 719 (348-1197)
    Free T - 11.2 (8.7 - 25.1)
    Estradiol - 10 (3-70)
    Shbg - 44.2 (16.5 - 55.9)

I assume my free T dropped due to increase of shbg. But I am not sure why shbg increased. I dropped my dose from 120 to 100 per Week (split two times per week). I also take 500 hcg per week 1 day before injections (250 each time).

One thing I know about my protocol is I am extremely sensitive to Estradiol. I take an ai for a week and it crashes my Estradiol from 30-40 to single digits. Therefore I try to stay away. I been taking Dim now and it looks like it came down a lot as well. This seems to be the biggest problem I have is trying to keep my E around the 20 zone which I feel is my comfort zone. I don't know what I can take to keep me at that level.

Could my high shbg attributed to my E decrease? Also, any recommendations to lower shbg and increase free T? And any thoughts on how to keep my E in the "sweet spot"?

    Thanks

What caused you to lower your dose?
Yes, there's a correlation between shbg and estrogen.

Lowering your T increased your shbg. That's how it works. The quickest way to suppress shbg is to increase T. Your TT is great but means nothing. FT is what's important and yours needs to come up. That said, increasing your T will raise your FT and suppress your shbg. Now, this is not a means to an end as when we age shbg naturally rises. You need to make sure your Vit D is optimized and maybe consider stinging nettle and/or avenacosides as well. D is a hormone and most are low. It will help to suppress your shbg as will the mentioned supplements. Of note is that age and BMI are real important indicators of shbg levels.

Get off the AI (dim.) 10 is to low and will ultimately lead to problems. But I'm happy to see the correct test being run for a change. Let your E rise and see where it lands. 20-30 is just a general guideline for E2 levels. Some feel better a little over that mark and that's just fine.
