    Just my luck....hurt shoulder

...well about 2.5 weeks ago i did something to my shoulder. Its on top where the shoulder bone ends. If u press on th bone its tender and the pain is just down inside from that point. Does hurt some when raisiing arm and is worse when i cross arm across body. Bench press movement is painful... Been icing it but still hurting. Anybody had luck with scrips like meloxicam or cortisone shot?

Any otger suggestions or what this might be. It feels muscular, like a burning pain

Rest it for a week or two, then go easy on pressing movements. maybe look into TB500, times romans has a great log on it.

Can you be more specific about where you are feeling the pain? Sounds like you might be describing your AC joint but I'm not really sure. Any painful clicking or popping? Weakness?

From ur neck. Follow bone on top of shoulderto the end. At the end it feels kinda like a ball. Its tender tgere and the pain is generating straight down from there. Lol hard to explain

Yea it sounds like you're describing your AC joint, at the end of your clavicle. Could just be some inflammation that needs to calm down. Have you experienced any loss of ROM? Painful clicking?

I'd stay away from upper body work for a few weeks and ice it for 10-15 minutes a few times every day. Take an NSAID as needed. If it doesn't improve it might be time to see a should specialist.

Raising arms out to tge side, pain starts towards the top of motion and increases as i keep going. If i reach across my body it hurts. Trying to touch opposite shoulder with my hand across my body is esp painful

Those are both common findings with AC joint and labral injuries.

Do you have pain when trying this test?

if you are hurt, you need to rest and rehab, not continuously aggravate it. if you feel it is injured and you want to take something to heal it, follow the link in my signature where I kept a detailed log on my TB500 use.

...or possibly see an orthopedist it it doesn't improve in the very near future....especially if you're losing /have lost ROM. You may need some PT to rehab it.

Rest it, it will get better unless you keep aggravating it. I have terrible shoulders and go through this at least a couple times a year. Stop doing movements that hurt that area, or lighten up the load at least. As you age you learn what exercises to do and what not to do.
