    Bulking or cutting?

    Hello everyone. First ever post on a forum so please bear with me. Currently 6 weeks into a 14 week cycle, and Iam not really sure if I should be trying to bulk or cut as my body fat is around the 20% mark. I want to bulk up, but don't want to get any fatter! Should I wait for my cycle to finish before cutting? Or should I concentrate on getting my BF% down first? Thanks in advance.

    Definitely cut. Was your bodyfat that high at the beginning?

    If I were you, I WOULD HAVE gotten my bodyfat lower before considering running a cycle (maximum of 15%). Usually, people with higher body fat percentages are more prone to estrogen related sides, such as gyno. I guess I'm a little confused by the question because bulking or cutting is entirely dependant on the amount of calories you're eating each day, and nothing else. Post up your diet, complete with macros for each meal and daily totals. Also, what compounds are you running in your cycle? If you were only a couple of weeks into it, I would say drop the cycle and get your bodyfat down. I think you'll find that most people here would say to stop now anyway, but personally, if you're making gains in LBM with no added fat, I would say continue to the 10-12 week mark, not 14, this being your first cycle. Run PCT, then start trimming away body fat.

    Please list your complete stats: height, weight, age, training experience, along with diet plan and workout regiment, and we can give you apporpriate advice based on that.

    Start cutting, you should be able to trim body fat pretty easy if you cut back on calories and train hard with some added cardio.

    Thanks for your replys. Before cycle I was around the 15% mark. Iam now around 18-20% 6 weeks into a test e, deca, winstrall cycle. (2nd cycle) Iam really happy with the amount of muscle Iam putting on, but still got a small beer gut going on! And want to lose that gut but not any muscle. Ideally I want to get bigger. Iam eating around 3000 calories a day. Good clean diet. Working out 5 days a week, split routine. 2 cardio sessions per week(30 mins hiit on cross trainer)
    Recently started using my fitness pay to track calories etc. but confused on how many calories a saying should be consuming to build muscle?

    You shouldn't lose too much muscle cutting while on cycle, I still gain muscle while losing fat when cutting.

    Ok thanks!!!! Finding the whole diet thing very confusing. Just thought while on a cycle I should be eating like a horse as I want to build more muscle! Where can I find a good cutting diet? And how can I work out how many calories, macros I should be aiming for? So I shouldn't consider bulking till Iam happy with my BF% even though I would like to get bigger? Thank for you help.

    In a perfect world you would be eating to grow, but you need to bring down bf, so now you need to find what calorie intake will get you there. I do everything by eye, I just know what I need from years of experience. I like to cut back on starchy carbs, eat them early in the day and ween off after lunch. Eat lots of veggies, they fill you up and don't impact calories too much, plus the fiber and nutrients are good for you. If you drink, stop, the best way to lose weight is to cut out alcohol if you are a drinker.

    In reality you're not at an unhealthy bodyfat and not considered overweight so you could keep gaining or maintaining for the rest of your cycle, maintain through PCT and a while after till your hormones are stable then cut if you wanted to. You're bodyfat is just far from ideal for bodybuilding goals.

    Now i don't use and haven't cycled before so i don't really know the ins and outs of changing your diet while on cycle but you could cut until week 10 then bulk until week 14? You wouldn't lose much size on a pretty dramatic cut so you could diet hard for 4 weeks, lose 8-10lb then bulk back up for the last 4 weeks?

    you should of had a plan going in to a cycle - being halfway through a cycle without a plan was a waste of your time. Think before you act - that's why you have such a big brain
