Sending gear to neighboring state

So I have some gear along with some needles that I want to send to a friend in the state right next to mine. I'm nervous about shipping it.
If the package doesn't leave the country the possibility of it being searched is very low right? Should I put a fake name and return address? Also as long as its not usps they need a warrant to open it right?

Why needles? Wrap in carbon paper or foil. New labels. I would not worry to much domestically and even pick up one of those fixed price USPS ready to ship box.

In the USA the post office can open any package at any time if it is suspected of something, however if you hide it well in a videotape or something like they do overseas you shouldn't have a problem just don't put your real name on it and put it in a drop box if you choose to do it that way. The DEA does random searches on all shipping services so there is still a chance of getting caught but unless you are sending large amounts, they mite just send your buddy a letter if found because my dad works in the field and he says every time they do searches they fill up large crates with drugs and illegal contraband so they are so overwhelmed they want the guy sending large amounts most of the time

I don't like the driving idea simply because this is the most common reason guys get caught with gear or any drug for that matter. Yeah I know, cops can't search your car without reasonable cause, but if you believe that you're an idiot.

Much easier, safer and better ways to do it.

USPS cannot open your domestic mail unless they have a warrant. A warrant like this would generally take months of tracking your actions to determine a probable cause to obtain a warrant.

I would say that mail is much safer than driving! If you pay cash for the package and write a fake return address, they can't really track it back to you anyways.

Other then cameras. With the shipping label they know exactly when and where it was checked in. It would be easy to check cameras.

And all they have to do is run packages through the x ray. if it's drugs, boom instant warrant

Well the needles make the package too big to put in a drop box. Driving I just dont have the time right now. I just bought standard brown box from walmart and a bunch of micro bubble wrap. im going to tightly wrap it all up in the bubbles and stuff it in the box.

You'l be fine. Just chuck it in a box and send it. I have sent business mail plenty of times. There more chance of the item being lost/stolen than seized

usps can open a package without a warrant if they think there's drugs or something illegal in there and people get busted all the time at the post office by people opening their packages they usually just get a seizure notice in the mail saying it was illegal and its been confiscated

Basically they can only open inbound international shipments
