anybody use olympic shoes to pull

I like pulling just In socks was wearing my Olympics today and picked up a bar off the ground and never though about deadlifting in them just wondering if anyone competes or trains with them.

Yeah bro, I always pull in Olys, but I also train the olympic lifts. I will take them off when I go for a max though.
It changes the mechanics enough, but it is like pulling from a deficit.
I even pull sumo with the Olys.

Ditto. Great compromise between bare feet but still having shoes.

I pulled conventional a few times in them and it felt good, felt like i could get better drive. Tried in sumo as well which feels better flat foot.

so I waited until I got to 465 to put the Olympics on so did 1 set without 2nd set with them the 3rd rep felt alot harder. I decided to do the next without and that 3rd rep was easier as for the first rep I think my form looked better because i could get my a** lower but both would pass in a meet so overall I believe I can pull heavier in socks then the olys so that's what I'll stick with.

You have to go with what works best for you but to really give the oly's a shot you need to give them a few weeks and possible tweak your form/starting position. You may need to increase or decrease your back angle depending on your leverages, you could possibly do better with them in sumo deads, etc. In the end just do what feels best.

Are you a weightlifter or a powerlifter?

Pulling in olympic shoes is a disadvantage for most. Like someone already said its like pulling a defecit. Im sure if you train in them and then compete in a flat sole shoe it will come off the floor easier than you would expect so it might not be a bad thing in training.
