At no point does Austinite suggest prophylactic bloodletting; he does, however suggest it as an option over donating blood (in Canada AAS use is a 1 year deferral from donating) IF your hematocrit is dangerously high. Phlebotomy is considered an invasive procedure, however minimal it may seem. Any invasive procedure has risk if complications. Do you have a dangerously high hematocrit? Or are you simply trying to avoid it? If the latter, blood work and monitoring BP are what you need, not bleeding into a bathtub. But to each their own I suppose.
