    Scared to gain weight

can anyone suggest a diet that will help me gain muscle and avoid gaining bulk.?

I feel like i already have enough bulk at 140lbs height 5'7 and age 26... Although it sounds like I am thin I am happy with my waist line and if i really just want to get more cut and defined. I don't want to BULK UP and then later cut down... Everyone has been suggesting this method but I am scared to bulk up and then maybe not be able to cut, or just not be happy with that appearance .

I've always been limited with diet , always try to eat clean, I don't want to go past my 30 waist line. I had a friend who started doing cycles of steroids and was able to keep his waist line thin while gaining muscle . Is this possible todo with the proper nutrition ???

"Bulk" doesnt mean fat.... means bulking up.. and that is aimed to muscle...

sure its possible.. lean bulk and eat healthy. but sounds liek you should be cutign first before bulking (trying to gain muscle)

ps, I dont eat meat also, for about 10 years ; )

you need to start paying attention to what you eat. not a full detailed diary, but a general idea of what you eat, and tweeks you make in diet and remembering them, otherwise you wont learn what works or doesnt for YOU. but generally I rec med carb/ med fts/ high protein ; something like 200g protein ed 300-500g carbs, 40-70g fat *HEALTHY FATS LIKE FRESH OLIVE OIL and GOOD carbs, not sugar like juice * but his is just a vague idea and depends on goals and body.

I would google and research this " carbcycling for fatloss" but keep in mind amount of calories matter too, not just the carbs being cycled .

awesome. What do you eat in terms of protein since you're a non meat eater?

I eat mostly lentils, beans, egg whites sometimes (I hate eggs) lean protein (New Zealand with stevia) quinoa

For carbs almost everyday sweet potato boiled, rye bread , oatmeal , brown rice on occasion

Fats I don't really know. I try not to use oil often, if I do it's always olive oil , sometimes I eat avocados because I know that's a good fat, coconut oil , almonds, almond milk, peanut butter is a common snack daily.

Hate to compare you to a chick but you have to eat to grow. No way around it. You don't have to eat tons of crappy food but if you want to add any size your gonna absolutely have to eat, get the number on scale out of your brain, give your body time to make the adjustments and put in the work. Not a seasoned vet here by any means but this is pretty much what you have to do. Man up, lose the ego, put on a little fat (nothing extreme) and GROW if that's what you want. Otherwise stay 2 inches taller than me, weigh the same and watch everyone else grow around you including the females and enjoy a pain in the a$$ plateau. Guys don't usually have an issue with this...it's the women that do, including me sometimes.
Not being a b*tch...telling the truth.

There are a lot of complete proteins for vegetarians. Seitan, tempeh, tofu and TVP (texturized vegetable protein) are just a few. Try doing some research for meal plans on various vegetarian bodybuilding websites.

Lol just so everyone knows I used to weigh 129 when I started working out so I'm making progress . I dont appear thin though at all. I probably have high fat content or something. I need to replace the fat with muscle , I don't know what I'm doing wrong

Man i always suggest for people who are in your situation if you're not "fat" but you're carrying more fat than you'd like and you're not particularly heavy i just say bulk for 6-8 months and build more muscle who cares if you build a little fat? Cut back down and get at a lower bf% with more muscle mass at a heavier weight... Can very much happen at your weight.. you might not like it at first since you don't like gaining weight but you will def enjoy the heavy weight you'll be pushing and youll DEF enjoy the look you'll have in under a year if you do so.. a win-win

yeah that seems like the only way ... I'm just scared of getting fat ...'or getting big and then not being able to cut and being stuck with a big figure. I'm aiming for lean cut but I guess I need to build more muscle mass before I can do the lean thing
