She was telling him that in order to burn fat he has to "eat more" or at least hit his BMR as he has not been doing that, he is way below his calorie intake so he to "eat more to increase his metabolism (BMR). She gave him the analogy of adding coal to the fire. What happens when you add more coal, the fire burns faster.
I was always under the impression you need to eat 200-500 calories below your TDEE. So if he is 22% body fat and 32 years old (natural, he doesn't use steroids), how is eating more going to help him burn fat??
Maybe I am missing something??
