I think your problem is when trying to keep tight on the bench you're pulling your shoulders up towards your head like a shrug motion.
If this is the case you're gonna lose some power off your chest and, you can't be properly using your leg drive in that position.

I dont know if I do that or not.I do know that I roll or pull my shoulders tight before I bench and I am in a high arch position .I try to keep tight in the upper back through the whole motion .You could be right about pulling the shoulders up .Ill check and see on wed.............C
I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. I benched yesterday and I'm sore all over today.
