    deadlifting personal record

Hey guys I broke my deadlifting personal record again earlier this week.... I managed 2.3 times my own bodyweight. Here's the video:

I also wrote a poem about it but I dunno if you're allowed post poems here.

    Why are you screaming?

Also, you warmed up and than hit a pr? You don't take a break during warm ups?

Whats up with the hex bar, have you tried sumo dl instead?

I wouldn't have gotten that up off the ground if I hadn't roared.

I lift the lighter weight beforehand to give muscles a little warning, but it's mostly to psych myself up.

As for using the hex bar, well I just got used to using it. I suppose I could have done it the other way round (i.e. warmed up with the hex and then lifted heavy with the straight)

No you didn't just get trolled. I did that lift last week. My previous record was about 5 pounds lighter.

That lift was 148.6kg (which was 2.3 times my bodyweight).

    In American that's 327.6 lbs

    Good job on the PR!

Your pre lift ritual of warming up is actually making you weaker during the main lift. You would benefit training yourself to think you don't need it. Also practice starting with a completely straight back. You'll blow throug 400lbs soon enough so you better take the proper precautions to spare your back, hips, knees et.c.
