    Measuring progress

How do you guys/gals measure progress without looking at the scale ? I know some people look at themselves and you can just tell you got bigger or smaller but how about bodyfat changes and muscle mass? I don't think going by sight works for everyone...

Tape measure and keep a weekly/monthly log?
Anyone use a dexa scan or pod?

I actually take measurement's every 6 months just out of curiosity but measurement's change a lot depending on BF.
The scale is just tool to see if I'm gaining or loosing too fast. Never really care what my weight is,for me it's about strength and how I look.

Taking pictures and comparing them side by side are the best for myself.

Everything Diesel said plus how my clothes fit.
I've done hydrostatic testing quite a few times over the years, but even hydrostatic and dexa can be off quite a bit. Pod is an utter waste of time. I'll post a link to bodyfat testing methods pros and cons if I can find it

This is part 6 of 6 part article on body fat measurement. You should be able to navigate to the other parts from here, but this particular article describes dexa

Clothes fitting differently just doesn't work for me. I don't know, I had someone see me recently and they mentioned how different I looked now and I feel and think I look the same way but damn, I started TRT like a year or so ago and looking back at it now I'm realizing there have been tons of differences that I just didn't notice before.. I'm thinking of keeping a log from now on, didn't even think about it tbh.

I went to some place to get the body fat % checked but its one of those scales, I doubt it is accurate at all

I also tried the picture route but thats a lot of damn work to keep pictures of yourself every 3--6 months
