    Plantains

    Does any one eat plantains?

They're so versatile and make an excellent substitute for your usual carbs.

I like to bake them and eat them alongside my greens and protein.

My Colombian and Nicaraguan ex wives made them a lot can’t say I’m a fan though. Don’t eat them now unless my next ex wife is Spanish.

Years years ago when I first bought a nice ripe plantain, I thought it to be same as a desert variety banana (the ones we eat) and put it in a post workout shake

Thinking of my usual chocolate powder and banana, the creamy milkshake like goodness I started to chug the shake.

    Bad fricking mistake

    Tasted like shit.

I do enjoy them now that I know how to cook them.

Little coconut oil, thin sliced, fried crispy outside soft inside lightly salted

    I love them

Lol - i can see how it's easy to make that mistake!

I've never fried them in coconut oil - that's definitely one to try and would go nicely with some avocado.
