    GA senate race

    Excuse me I am drunk...

As I type Purdue is 51.5% vs Ossoff 48.5%
Loeffler is 50.8% vs Warnock 49.2%

However, DeKalb county and Muscogee county and Chatham county still have the largest % of votes yet to be counted.
And with Fulton being so large it still has some left to report.

    My point is...

    Besides being drunk...

Is the the Democrats are going to win...

The US treasury market is down and stocks are down.
Treasuries are down because the larger stimulus checks means more government debt.
Stocks are down because Biden will raise corporate taxes.

I have shorted treasuries so my money is where my mouth is...

    My real point is that...
Tomorrow you will hear all sorts of stories about how the election was rigged.
You went to bed and the Republicans were up.

I am just letting you know as a professional trader that the markets know who won already.
It is not because it is rigged.
Hell, the markets were dead wrong as soon as Tokyo opened.

    However, math dictates.
And chances are about 97% and 89% that Warnock and Ossoff win.

    Check predictit.org
    check the spus
    check treasuries
    check nytimes.com/intercatives

But please don't start a civil war over this.

I may be a prick but I do love y'all

    And to add...

If I could bet on it...

These results will be double and triple counted...
    There will be protests...
There will be about 8750 affidavits proving fraud..
    There will be audits...
There will be all sorts of youtube videos proving fraud...

    Not being an ass..
Just telling you that we all know it will happen.

The tides have turned. Time to clean out the trash. Mitch McConnell can go back to his bird nest. Wonder how Pence is going to deliver the speech tonight? Maybe after this he'll be cast to play grandpa in King of The Hill, The Movie.

I was dead wrong about stocks on this news. (was right on treasuries...)

Stocks were down at first overnight but are up huge.
I guess the euphoria about bigger stimuls is outweighing the prospects of higher corporate taxes.

(And I covered my treasury short way too quickly... made nickles and dimes when I could've made a fortune...)

I blame it all on the vodka!!

The democrats are going to win Georgia. Its a given. Georgia is no longer a red state, ive worked on and off in Georgia for 16 years and have alot family there. I noticed it going liberal about 10 years ago. It is what it is. The party wants socialism. And theyre main focus is climate change and gender. Lol , yeah ive never voted republican until 2016...the democratic party leaves me no choice my thinking is extremely far away from what they base their party on.

What interesting/depressing is when you break down the votes county by county.... say DeKalb, Fulton, etc. vs Elbert, Hart, etc., the smaller and rural counties are more in line with my political values than the heavy populated counties.
Guess it's good that I'm old because I do not want to be around for the crap that goes on in the metro areas.
There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...

Yes AG this is true. I worked near the big metro areas of Macon, and Atlanta and all outskirts of Atlanta. I should have been more specific on the areas. It’s unbelievable how many people are in Atlanta documented and undocumented if you know what i mean

I don't understand people's dislike of clean energy.
Not sure why less pollution is a bad thing.

And if someone wants to think they are a "they" then so be it.
Plenty of people believe in a superhero up in the sky that watches over us.
I'm not against them believing that.
So if someone doesn't want to be consider a "male" or "female" then so be it.
You are free to believe in Jesus, or Muhammed, or Buddha, or Yahway, or Odin, or Brahma, or Vishnu, or Thor or whatever...
Let them believe what they want.

    Just my opinion.

Anyone watching Trump trash all the "weak Republicans"?
Is that the morals you think your party should be based on?
You either back the supreme leader or you are a RINO weak Republican.
Seems kinda authoritarian to me. Kinda fascist.

You can focus on pollution and gender issues...
    I'm concerned about other things.

Personally, I think each person is entitled to their own beliefs/ non-beliefs regarding religion, faith, etc. and I'm probably a hybrid Libertarian/Republican in that regard, but seeing the lunancy/unrest of some of the "progressive" areas is disgusting.

Peaceful protests or demonstrations....yes, absolutely. Crazed idiots rioting, looting, "occupying" people's businesses, or declaring autonomous zones is total chaos.

    I've said it many times...

    Rioters should be locked up.
(and just so you know... not sure why people think all the rioters are democrats... surely many of them are just pure criminals... surely many of them aren't even old enough to vote...
surely some of them were right wingers stirring shit up, look up the umbrella man...)

But I understand, people think that Democrats allowed it to happen.
It also happened in Republican cities.

    But I get it...
The radical left has views I don't agree with.
    But...
The alt-right has views I don't agree with.
There is shit on both sides.

My main problem for the last four years has been with Trump...
Listen to his speech he is giving right now and tell me if you agree with anything he has said.

He is trashing the weak Republicans.
    He is spreading conspiracy theories.
He is claiming the election was stolen.
    He is weakening America.

Notice I didn't label the rioters as Democrats, I opted for "progressives" which is a totally different subset. The values of the Democratic party are drastically different from 20 years ago and I can say with a high level of confidence that the difference is in a socialist direction.

Re: Trump. I don't personally know the man, but I have a feeling that our personalities would clash and he would fire my ass in a heartbeat, BUT when I look at the alternative to Trump that we had, I voted Trump.

If they can believe in invisible men in the sky, they'll believe anything. Strange that they always believe the unbelievable but they won't believe verifiable facts or logic. Where is George Carlin when you need him?

This is the kind of behavior that isn't needed on either side of the aisle.

Our country is being torn apart by lawlessness from the radicals on the left and right.

When lawlessness prevails, society needs to ask itself where are we going and why are we in a handbasket.

I may be incorrect, we'll see how this all plays out. One of my thoughts is that you have the same actor funding the riots from the left and right. Call it paranoia, conspiracy, whatever label is appropriate, but I wouldn't rule out that as a possibility.

Edit: By 'funding", I mean instigating, coordinating, promoting.

So, he is responsible for the CHAZ behavior, too? I honestly don't see his ability to be able to coordinate that much.

Damn, Chaz’s dad (Sonny) was a republican Congressman! That would be pretty low of Trump if he was responsible for Chaz!

The wife and I personally are surprised that there hasn’t been serious threats or attempts made to ether Biden or Harris. Welcome to the next four years, thanks Donnie. How low can we go, that remains to be seen.

Here I awoke hoping that the Georgia vote reflected the voice of the people and that the there was a ray of sunshine.

The national guard has been called in.

Meanwhile Trump hasn't addressed the nation yet...
    Well...
He's tweeted twice but didn't bother to tell people to disperse.

I am afraid for the nightfall.

That makes 2 of us, DD. Lawlessness breeds lawlessness. I'm sure you've traveled/ are familiar with what happens in other countries in these circumstances. If martial law is ever put into place, it is very difficult to eliminate when no longer needed.

Biden told Trump that he should give a speech.

Trump doesn't like being told what to do.

So, Antifa, who are by definition an anti- right wing group, didn't urge on any of the bedlam or violence. Nonsense!!

They are just as guilty as Trump for inciting criminal behavior.

As I said before, the behavior is wrong on both sides of the aisle. You are simply are incapable of setting aside your hatred of Trump ( which you are entirely entitled to) and facing the fact the the behavior on both sides is divisive and shreds apart the fabric of the country.

Again, one side is the president, and one is a few people. I don't know anyone in Antifa, but I do know Trump... Who has more influence on this country? A little group of teenagers with too much time on their hands or the president of the free world? I have yet to receive any answers from any Trump guys on here on how you can overlook the hour long phone call with Georgia's secretary of state in which he told himto find however many thousands of votes he needs to overturn the results. I have yet to hear about how out of the 90 filings, not one still exists in court? Not 1. Is it all a conspiracy? Everyone is in a secret club to screw Trump?

We have only 4 million people vaccinated and we were supposed to have 20 by the end of 2020. Instead we wasted time debating baseless accusations based on a lie by Trump to raise money to pay his debts at the expense of our country and our democracy. I don't know how else to explain this to you. You're comparing an ant hill to a volcano. Antifa, BLM, etc. is nothing, it's a non-issue.

I guess that's where we differ in our opinions. Whereas I see BLM, Antifa, etc., as a nuisance, you see it as a big problem and possibly a symbol to an even bigger problem. The first page on Beetlegeuse's "Mainstream media..." thread describes how I feel about that. I think it's just the pendulum swinging, as it always does.

For example, the over representation and discussion of gay/LGBTQ topics in the media, imo, are due to the years of suppression. The media long-ignored or avoided any topics relating to this. To break through a wall you have to hit it with force. I think that's what's happening. When being gay/LGBTQ becomes mainstream, the conversation will relax. All the parading and overemphasizing will die down.

Now, being a white guy myself, I can also see how people on the right may think. You see thugs doing criminal shit and getting arrested. You see people disrespecting police. You see certain groups engaging in more nefarious behavior than others. Then you have the cultural side of things. Music has changed, the media has changed. What annoys me is when things get the hip hop treatment. I grew up listening to it, along with other genres, but I do get bothered by the vulgarity that our children are getting exposed to. It comes from one side mostly. We even have a few of our own emulating that trashy lifestyle. Tattoos all over the face, vulgar music, oversexualizing everything. All that shit makes me want to drive a tank into people. But I realize that is a certain subset of the population. Not everyone within these groups is like that, and that type of stuff in the media is just over hyped. My issue with it is that the young generations get brainwashed into thinking they want to be Instagram followers who have tattoos on their faces and mumble rap over trap beats. I miss purer, simpler times. White culture is diluting, and unfortunately that's what it is. We have to find ways to preserver who we are as people.

As the pendulum swings, on the other side of blatant vulgarity you have the PC culture. Not quite on the same plane, but pushing back equally. However, the PC culture seems to always pick on certain people more than others. The way police tend to pick on blacks, PC police pick on white men (more often). Lil Turd gets the pass while Michael Stevens or whoever gets burned on the steak for saying something 10 years ago.

I can go on. I understand all this. One issue is with our culture and media. Another issue is with our political system. Two different planes. Unfortunately, they seem to intersect a lot in politics and the media. I say the president is acting unlawfully and trying to influence the election, and you tell me BLM are running rampant and destroying properties. What it seems like you are suggesting is that by somehow putting a guy like Trump in office that a culture you are not comfortable with will go away and America will be great again. However, that can't happen. The answer to make a system work can't be to create division, sow hate and fear monger. And however annoying and depressing the current social media/social causes are, we cannot accept a constitution stepping and law breaking president. The way we fix BLM, Antifa, etc., is not by reacting but by understanding and compromising. Otherwise, this country will fall apart.

I just want peace and prosperity for out country. Probably too much to hope for, but I'm not giving up.

Personally I think this is the best thing that could happen to to the Republican party.

The left realized their mistake in backing the defund the police,
    Nearly cost them the election.

The right will realize that backing Trumpism cost them the election.
Y'all have great chance of winning in 2024 when Biden retires and the dems run on a black woman ticket,

    America is stronger than this.

Well, we do share some common concerns!! To a great extent, media goads people of different belief systems and I feel a great deal of it is simply sensationalism to increase viewers numbers. Even worse, some is to fuel more resentment and anger between people.
