Nailed it as always. I love seeing him speak out on topics like this, like how he’s done with gerrymandering in the past. Dude genuinely loves and cares about the country

In my experience, most who have come here from nations that experienced recent (or current) upheaval at the hands of power drunk psychopaths have an appreciation for the fundamental principles of the US (and other western representative republics and democracies) that many born into them take for granted. The US has seen its share of turmoil, but most of it was either our involvement on other shores (WWI & II, Vietnam, etc.) but the last time there was any real threat to the sovereignty as a whole, was so far in the past that everyone involved in any way is long dead.
Hell, the most recent thing we really saw that even comes close to this was the Civil Rights movement, and we’re rapidly approaching a time when all of them have passed from existence as well.

Depends upon the region that you live in. Many if not most of the folks that I see daily that are new or newer citizens (even second or third generation) here are the exact opposite and continue with their previous ways and do not embrace the principles here. Very frustrating and causes issues. It’s what makes us a true ”melting pot” (unless of course one chooses not to “melt”).

Absolutely, which is a huge part of why insular behaviors and echo chambers are so problematic, no matter what they are espousing. When humans cease to be challenged, they cease growth in that area. This applies to psychological as well as physiological things.

Precisely why growth of individuals and groups of individuals in thought and action in a “positive” direction is an achievement worthy of pride.

Was curious, you’re German right? Was it tough overcoming the same shames that Arnold brought up, any family back in Germany with the same?

I’m your typical American mutt, though more Irish/Scot than anything. There’s probably some German mixed in there as well, but I never bothered looking very far back into my lineage.
