Joint aches from lifting and back ache from Cardio

    Well fellas,
Getting old sucks. I be turning 51 in 4 days. Here is the situation if I life heavy not I start to get pain in my fingers joints. Got it checked and no it?s not arthritis. So I said to myself ok while I rest my fingers I should do cardio. Walking on treadmill (while holding the bar) give my upper back pain. So I thought ok let?s do stair master. Knees hurt. How do I workout without hurting. Is there any good book? I can?t workout without weights. Any help will be appreciated.
I am on HRT for 18 years can’t even take more then 200 mg/2 weeks makes my blood too thick.
    Fuck too many complaints

    Donate for the blood thickness.

Maybe a little NPP to give some joint relief? What is your estrogen at?

Perhaps switch to machines where gripping is far less critical. Granted rowing is going to be tough, but a machine that does front and back flies at least gives you some rear delt & trap work (and of course, chest).

What?s going on with your posture on the treadmill to give you upper back pain? Consider the stationary cycle, maybe even the recumbent if your back is still an issue. And yeah, the stairmaster is not going to be a friend to your knees.

Bottom line is you are going to have to be creative & also have to accept that there are certain things you can no longer do if you want to keep training into old age. There are some ?orthopedic freaks? out there that seem to be resistant to joint issues in their later years, but they are in the far minority.

    X2 on the recumbent bike.
There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...

    TMI forthcoming....

Stationary recumbents always rub me JUST the wrong (right?) way, and I end up with boners. There you go, that mental image of Cylon's shiney metal joy sticky brought to you on this Friday night. You are so welcome. Enjoy your weekend!

That said, recumbent bicycles, the kind you ride around the neighborhood, do NOT cause this. Probably the fear of falling...
